Hi everyone,

The good news first - I am happy and healthy on HRT. I have had my breats grow and those nipples hurt from time to time. The car door almost got me this morning so I will have to watch out for that.

Today I started Anti-Angrogen medications so now I am taking the most medications I eve had in my life. For someone who has always been reluctent to take any medication - I never last the distant on them and would tend to quit early on any medication - I was wondering if people got use to popping pils. I should add that I have been on anti-depression meds now for 18 months so it is becoming a fact of life for me. I just wonder if I want to do this indefinatly.

I was never on oral estrogen (patches, then injectables).  But I did take a micronized progesterone (Prometrium) and Finasteride (propecia) for 3.5 years before SRS.  Now I don't take anything (inject once every 2 weeks) and I'm happy.

Just wanted to add that it's not unusual for people who were on anti-depressants before sometimes find they don't need them anymore after starting HRT.  So maybe you'll be one of those lucky ones and have fewer pills to take.

Well Alice, I'm a walking pharmacy myself >:D, and yes, you do get used to taking all those pills (estrogen or something else).  After a while they become a part of your regular routine like brushing your teeth or taking a shower.  I'm delighted for you, Alice!

Exactly! I just take them at the same time every day with my meals. It's just habit now. 19 months of HRT, and I think I only missed one round of pills... when I had a BAD case of the flu recently and could barely MOVE, let alone swallow anything.

I take my pills morning and night.  maybe I could consider at lunch too.  that's just a bit much though.

No.

I hate taking pills.

It'd be much more fun if they were psychoactive.

Just to hollowly echo...
One really does get used to taking the lot, even when one has never been keen on pills of any sort previous.

But that said, I have found it very helpful to write the time when I take the morning/night set in a little note pad, and indeed that has kept me from inadvertently over/under dosing.

No prob, take 8 pills in 3 rounds,
between the estrogen, the anti-androgens, dutasteride and progesterone.

Plus, I take vitamin D, a multi-vitamin, vitamin C and calcium.

So, that's 12 capsule, or tablets a day :-).

I get stabbed in the ass once a week - quite easy :)

It's the effects to concentrate on I think. Some people would find it appalling that a person would volunteer to have someone stick a pointy object in their butt once a week. Me, I look at my face, hear my voice, and fondle my beard way too much and I'm darn happy to do it.
