I_Am_Hazel

Hi friends!

My name is Hazel (recently changed socially, saving up to change legally). I am a trans woman who started hormones two months ago tomorrow.

I'm here to hopefully build relationships with you all. I contribute on the trans-related sub->-bleeped-<-s once in a while, but there are a few things that have pushed me away from them. Additionally, I much prefer this style of forum to ->-bleeped-<-, partly because of nostalgia, and partly because I think they are designed in a way that better promotes relationship-building.

I look forward to getting to know you all <3

Relationships do form here at Susan's Place.  It's a family atmosphere without the drunk uncle.
Congratulations on your two month mark!
And welcome to Susan's Place!
Hugs and smiles, Jessica 🌸🌸🌸

my name is Quin, and I'm new here myself.
I hope we both make some good friends here.

do you have any hobbies, or interests you'd care to share?

I'm into the web-comics, manga, anime, and video games, sort of subculture myself. I hope to become an independent Creator myself someday very soon.
I specialize in Illustration, fantasy/sci-fi world building, and character driven story crafting.

Thank you all for the warm welcome <3

@QuincestuallyAurtastic

I play a lot of video games for fun! Career-wise my experience is in non-profit development and fundraising. I love reading (mostly fiction). I've taught myself Photoshop, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, InDesign, and now I'm learning SQL and c#.

I also love love love data analysis and numbers :)

Edit: does anyone know how to @ tag someone properly? When I type it out, they're not actually tagged.

@I_Am_Hazel

I believe you need to type your post in the web browser interface of the forum. If you are using tapatalk, it won't work.

I tagged your name using the web view function in tapatalk on my iPhone. You type the @ symbol followed by the username without any spaces. As you type, a list of matching usernames will pop up and you can select the one you want.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I'm using Chrome on my desktop PC; no list of usernames pops up when I type @xyz. Oh well, thank you!

Hazel... I hon. I've been doing computer work since 1969 when I went to work for Yamaha. In 1984 I got to use my first duel disc PC. By 1987 the 386 computer made desktop computing possible. Your lucky you don't know what 1200 baud is. I have installed over 10 MRP, CadCam and Non Conformance systems. But enough about me.
Are you interested in learning Python? Python is used in many scientific applications and can interface SQL. I found this web site and I can't think of a better place to learn than MIT.  This is free opencourseware from actual classes that were taught over the last few years. No credits but you can get a certification.  https://ocw.mit.edu/search/ocwsearch.htm?q=introduction%20to%20python

Hello everyone :)

@DawnOday

I'm somewhat envious of those of you who grew up (or were adults) in the very early days of computers. But I like where we are now, too – I enjoy following the progress of quantum computing. Thanks for the link! I'm not really familiar with the many languages out there and what their strengths and uses and limitations are. My primary goal is to learn SQL because Tessitura CRM uses it and if you can write custom reports in SQL, you can make good money and are very valuable.

Hazel... The good thing is MIT also has courses for SQL and C##, Ruby and Ruby on Rails, Visual Basic.
