Currently i have a date for srs with dr suporn next year , but i have mental issues , i hear voices since begining of 2015 , i ended up in psychiatric hospital for it for 7 month while i had a date already for it , i have been keeping to delay it because of the hospital , and after my psychiatrist does not want me to go while i hear voices , and i m on ,psychiatric medication for  my voices , i sent a letter to dr suporn and apparently they already done surgery on peoples with voices , but my psychiatrist is worryed it will go wrong with voices , i think i can do it even with voices but my psychiatrists is too worryed

I know nothing about this issue, but there is quite a long recovery process after srs and you need to be able to keep up dilation to ensure you don't have a bad result. You typically have to dilate every day until about one year post-op.

There is a risk you face going to surgery while you have voices. You need the letters to the surgeon agreeing that your able to decide if you need surgery. If these letters come when your with Dr Suporn, there is a possibly you may make the trip and not receive the letters needed for surgery. If your doctors are not willing to write the required letter, that may be an indication you could have trouble at the time of surgery.

"Informed Consent" should be good enough to get those letters. I too hear voices because I have multiple personalities (D.I.D.) Seeing counselors every week now for 5 years. Now that I am post-op my condition has improved somewhat. Be your own Advocate and push them for your letters and surgery! Best wishes ♥

The issue with informed consent is that the individual involved must be able to make a rational decision. Hearing voices may or may not be a reason for delaying surgery. I am not a psychologist, but my psychologist put me through a few tests to measure my ability to make a rational decision. When I questioned her methods, she said that some people with psychological issues are not held responsible for their decision.

The decision to transition is a very personal and important decision which must not be taken lightly as returning to your original condition is not possible. Every mental condition you have before transition will still be there afterwards, except for gender dysphoria.

Your Psychiatrist needs to treat your condition that is causing you to hear voices first. I am just wondering if your gender dysphoria is causing a trigger for those voices? On the other hand, if the voices are not related to gender dysphoria, then this may be treatable with medication depending on your Psychiatrist's diagnosis.

Thank You for clarifying Dani. It was my understanding that informed consent bypassed any mental health issues. I am surprised now that I was allowed the surgeries what with all of my issues - D.I.D., PTSD, OCD and Panic Disorder.

I am convinced though that my breast augmentation and srs have helped me tremendously, at least as far as ridding me of my gender dysphoria. I had been living with too many of these "issues" and it has been a blessing to eliminate GD.

Perhaps my Youtube channel and personal website (which I always mentioned to my doctors and counselors) helped convince them. On my Youtube channel I made several VLOGS detailing my multiple personalities and the problems that they cause. I also detailed how I believed that SRS and BA would force my alters to re-integrate. Now that I am post-op we shall find out after I am healed! ♥

Honey, my doctors tried me on Risperidone, Lamotrigine, Paxil and a few other drugs that I can not remember. None of them worked for me, even when they tried combinations.

I have been in counseling every week now for about 5 years which, to me, is more like voluntary probation. There is no cure yet, but I can say that my SRS has made me happier, more confident and given me hope for the future.
