Okay hi, so I know I can't talk about dosages on here, so it might cause some, I guess communication issues as I can't say how much I'm actually on now.

But well, I have been on Spiro for over a year now, the exact amount of time is right below in my sig. And I've also been on Finasteride, or however it's spelt, for about 4 or 5 months I think. Something like that.

Oh, also I'm on estradial and progesterone.

Now, according to my doctor, my E levels are very very good, like, apparently almost up to where cis woman are. Which is like, YAY! :D

But then on the negative side of things, as said in the title, my T levels are still very high as well, which is apparently why I have had little physical change. She upped my spiro and we'll see when I go back in January if that's helped get it down.

But like, does anyone have any advice? Like, are there things I could be doing to help get the T levels down? Like, is there a reason it's so difficult to get it down? Has anyone else had this? Is there anything I should stop doing? I just don't know what I should do, just sitting here till January just doesn't feel right, like, I feel like I should be doing something if there is anything.

I'm sorry about your levels... I don't have expert advice on anything that would help in your situation. I've been looking into getting an orchiectomy for myself and that's something that should stop all t. But it's not for everyone and I'm sure there are other ways, I just don't know any

I thought that spiro blocked T so that even with a higher level it would be used in the body.

Hello Reyes

I have been on HRT 7 months and like you I have very good E levels and my T level reduced after 3 months but increased after 6 months from 1.6 (Intnl) 46 (US) to 2.4 (Intnl) 69 (US). I remain on Estradiol but for T reduction my Endo had added Triptorelin/Decapeptyl by IM injection to my Finasteride.

We do not know why T has increased but I am hoping for a reduction at my next Blood Tests in November as a result of the T/D. My only advice to you is to speak to your doctor and try if you can have BTs after 3 months rather than 5 months.

Although dosages not allowed, it is permitted to show Blood Test results for E & T (or others) if you wish.

I hope you find resolution soon and wish you success on your HRT journey.

Hugs

So bit of an update. I'm not sure if this means anything is actually happening, but in the past month or so since I started on the higher dosage, I've noticed I've needed to shave my face less and less. Like, I think it didn't start till after I started the increase, but used to be everyday I'd be like really stubbly, which I hate so much, but now, I still shave every day, can't afford laser hair removal yet, but there's like barely anything there now when compared to before. So I hope that's a sign that my t levels are dropping.

I think so, and if not, at least your T is being blocked. Of course getting bloodwork done (again, I know we do that alot being trans) is really the best way to figure this out. Or rule things out too.
But I think that's a great change!
I know this is unpopular opinion... But I honestly don't think laser did anything for me. I really think hrt is what lessened my facial hair. There's clearly spots the laser person never touched..and the hair on that spot is lighter/less coarse/softer. It's still there, but changed.
Overall my facial hair is all coming back finer too. It sucks. I'll hopefully see a dermatologist and see what they say I can do. I'm thinking electrolysis is safe bet maybe.

@Allsion S
You are exactly correct with your advice about the only way to really know about T-level and other levels is to get the blood work and blood tests done on a regular basis as ordered by a doctor.... all that guessing provides is just that... guesses.

Laser did not do much for me either, after about 2 years on HRT my face, body and leg hair all but disappeared and if there was any it was very fine and grew back very slowly.,,, but in my case, well before HRT growing up I never did have a lot of facial or body hair... back then I only had to shave ever several days and even then it was very light.

Hugs,
Danielle

Another small update.

I'm really starting to think the uppage of my spiro dose has finally successfully blocked my body from creating more testosterone, or at least lessened the amount made by a heck of a lot more then before. And as such I really think the levels are finally starting to drop. :D

Reason being, as I said before, the shaving thing, but now I have to add on to that, when shaven my skin just feels sooo smooth. And according to my mom and dad, my face looks fuller then it did a month ago. :D So yay! :D
