The national LGBT charity Stonewall have launched an easy to fill-in version of the GRA consultation with suggested answers. Please take your time to complete it. There's a big push on some of the hate forums with just over a month to go.

Thank you Christine for posting this.

We must not let the transphobes win.

I promise to complete this next week.

Hugs

Some questions were not relevant to me, being a Canadian resident.  However, having a U.K. birth certificate and being directly and negatively affected by the current restrictions, I did respond.

I don't mean to piss on anyones parade, however feel I should say the following.

I have mixed feelings about this its good to make people more aware of the consultation. The UK government deserve ALOT of credit for doing this....(Further it should be noted it was Tory Cameron not Labour who voted in Gay Marriage so they ain't all Like that Misogynist Dinosaur Rees Mogg).........

I don't think suggested answers is a good thing. Surely people should say what they actually feel as opposed to the group think view?

If people are true to themselves very few on either side of the debate, are going to be pro or anti everything.
At times it feels that anyone who is LGBT who expresses a view that the Cis Women who have concerns need to be heard, gets told they are holding back progress and against trans emancipation.

I'm that type of Trans Women.....
Self Certification of Gender Identity is a Can of Worms that I feel we don't benefit from. Streamline the process, make it less Bureaucratic, reflect that Same sex orientation is fine and as valid as Hetro attraction, all yes, however it does need Gatekeepers, to avoid Trojan horses.....

That the form requires a bit of effort to read, means people fill it in, after some thought?

Please, think about what I wrote before flaming me. That I am married to a Cis woman who is a ethnic minority and have 4 kids does shape my views.  Cis Women - deserve respect and recognition that they are still disadvantaged ,at times even more than us.... Food for thought!

Thank you for the link, I just completed the government version of the form and shared a link with work mates, friends and Facebook. It may be a shock to my Facebook friends as I'm not usually political and many don't know I'm Trans!
