MissKatie

I'm 34 and a transgender woman.
I had convinced myself that I was just a cross dresser and not actually female for years and years but I just can't do that anymore.

I just feel like me all the while and whilst I don't particularly HATE my male body I just don't want it.
I want to look female.

I haven't seen any doctor yet for various reasons. the main one really being I don't want to change who I am and I don't want people to treat me differently just because I'll have breasts If I transitioned.
I own two pairs of male trousers for work and three male tops (for work) and everything else is female clothing. I'm a jeans type of girl more than a dress girl anyway.

sorry, I'm just throwing random bits of information around so I'm going to stop now.

Hello and welcome to Susan's MissKatie!  ;)

I'm practically in the same situation as you are regarding clothing... exept I have 5 tops and 5 trousers to get through the week for work and everything else female clothing! I'm more inclined towards dresses though, but I do sport denims from time to time.  :D

I wish you well on your journey!

Hey Katie!

It's you and only you who decide when and how to change. So if you don't want change right now then don't. Do it when you're ready, it's never late :)
More important is realisation of who you really are. Now you know it and can choose your path.
Welcome to Susans :) Have a good time here :)

Hi, Katie, and welcome!

Quote from: MissKatie on September 17, 2018, 09:55:19 AMthe main one really being I don't want to change who I am and I don't want people to treat me differently just because I'll have breasts If I transitioned.

Interestingly, this becomes a hangup for many people when they start to transition.  Because, for most, transition doesn't change who you are, that causes many to wonder if they really are trans or not, because it is not changing who they are.  If you go in with the expectation that you won't change, you may be less plagued by doubts.

I am finding that no one treats me differently.  The people who knew me before had a little bit of surprise to work through, but they all know now that I am still the same person.  Really, the only difference is that I am treated as a woman.  If a mixed group breaks up on gender lines, I am accepted among the women and not expected to hang out with the men.

Don't be afraid to talk to a therapist about this.  A good gender therapist will understand you, and will be able to help you to achieve whatever your goals are on this journey.
