Hello everyone. My name is jim soon to be Jamie. I'm happily married to a wonderful woman who loves me for who I am. I've been crossdressing since 10. Im 47 and have been hiding behind a mask of some butch biker image. For the last 5 years my wife and I have been talking about my gender preference and she's supportive, and said it would be fun to go shopping together. I don't look my age, I look younger and have little to no body hair at all. This is what I want and the only fear is my in-laws. My kids are supportive as well.I haven't started any hormones yet but I have an appointment with my endroconologist next month.what steps do I have to take to get it started. I have an idea of the noticeable timeline. I already have long blonde hair, and not over weight but do have perky man boobs that my wife's friends giggle about asking if I want a training bra lol. I know my body will take to the transition well. So my question is my steps to get started and what to expect since I'm already an emotional person.

Jaimie you already have half the battle won. Your wife and kids are supportive and you are seeking medical help. I have a few suggestions that may or not be of interest but they sure helped me alot.
Talk to a gender therapist. Mine was a big help in allowing me to go forward. Find a local support group. When I started I did not know any other transgender people. At one of my first meetings I attended a strange looking girl with purple hair approached me and gave me a big hug. Evie has become a great friend along with her wife Melissa. But the point being, it was a big welcome to a whole new world. She was a sponsor of Gender Odyssey and gave me free tickets to the convention. It was the most affirming experience so far. Seventeen hundred other people just like me. The last thing is getting that dang facial hair removed. It takes a while and can get expensive unless you have the right insurance that is not afraid to treat transgender people. Mine is Kaiser and they have been great to me. I love that my former man boobs are now a nice C cup because of the hormones.
Hugs

Jaime,

I'm so happy to hear that your wife and kids support your decision to be yourself. My wife is in anguish over my recent coming out to her. I believe that you make it through just fine. If the most important people you know love and support you then you don't need anything else. Your in-laws and the rest of the world will not matter if you have that support. I truly believe that there is less hate than we believe waiting for us in the future. We have to be strong. We have to be ourselves for our own good and that good of the world. We were created this way for a reason. Stay strong and be proud of the woman you are. Love and faith.

Dear Jamie:
Thank you for following my welcome comments on the other thread that I Officially Welcomed you on earlier today as a new member of Susan's Place and then following my suggestion and Link to come here to the Introductions Forum to tell more members about yourself and your arrival here on the Forums.

Your Introductions posting will give many other members here a chance to get to know you and there will be those that can identify with much of what you are going through in your journey.   Therefore you should be able to start the sharing process and experience more give and take with other like minded members... and there is no doubt that you can make some new friends here in the process.

Enjoy your time here on the Forums, I trust that you will find this an enjoyable and informative experience.
Best wishes to you.... and again, Welcome to Susan's Place
