I know that this isnt specifically trans related, though it is important for advocating for equal rights and legal protections and access to healthcare.

There is an election coming up in the United States next month, where new representatives will be chosen. This is a great time to help make all of our voices heard.

No matter what kind of state one lives in, there are politicians on both sides somewhere in that state and voting matters.

Voting also matters on state and national legislation (new laws).

And remember, there have in history been elections won and lost by a single vote, such as these.

Thank you for this post.  It is so important to vote.   Make sure you register.  Vote for whoever you want.   It absolutely does make a difference and even if you don't believe that, then believe this:  Just vote anyway because a transgender person voting (and voting for transgender-friendly politicians who support transgender rights) pisses off a whole bunch of people.

I'm glad you shared this. On another website a trans activist highlighted the recent administration's possible change to HHS policies redefining gender, and my response to other readers was "If this doesn't make you want to vote, then what will?"

I voted yesterday, the first day of early voting in Texas. Usually the line is short - I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 15 minutes to sign in. Yesterday I was surprised and VERY pleased to see a really long line waiting to vote. On the FIRST DAY! It took me 2 hours to get through the line, and when I left the line was even longer than it was when I first got in it.

Folks, the struggle is real. Vote like your life depends on it, because it very well may be that case.
