So I am thinking of trying to wear something under my male clothes. Just to start to move toward a girl mode feeling. I have already decided to go with panties but I was wondering if any of you had suggestions on whether stockings or pantyhose were nice even under your typical pair of pants or jeans? This is pretty much my typical attire when I do my job, which is desktop support. Any suggestions or advice are very welcome. Love and faith.

I wore pantyhose under my pants on occasion before going full-time.  Be careful as your pants may tend to ride up.

If you are not "out" at work and want to stay that way you can still wear female undergarments and hosiery and even a bra if the bra is a simple cotton no padding bra, usually it can be hidden under perhaps 2 layers of tops... an loose fitting undershirt and a loose fitting regular patterned shirt which can help hide the bra lines....  if you are daring you can even put polish your toenails and a very light color or just a clear gloss overcoat on your fingernails... and even grow your fingernails out and shape them...   you will have to figure out what you can get away with and what makes you feel like a woman within.
It is all up to you and your situation.
Wishing you well,
Danielle

Danielle,

I'm already working on growing my nails out. I can't go too big because well I work on computers. They would just break if they were too long. But I have started shaping them and my nails are pretty thick and grow relatively quickly. I'm learning how to use an emery board. They actually look pretty decent. I'm getting comments about my hair from some of the ladies I work around. They don't perceive it as feminine but they are noticing some extra length and the way it kind of curls up above my ears. The volumizing shampoo and conditioner are really giving my hair some lift. It's kind of cool but at the same time that curl does look a little odd. I will have to do some YouTube research about how to control that hair curl. For anybody interested in trying a new shampoo I will give two thumbs up to Hask chia seed oil volumizing shampoo and conditioner. God I love the smell of this stuff. I wish that they had a body wash with this same scent. I would love to bathe in that. It's sensual. Love and faith.

Have a look at bralettes and maybe you could get some cute womens socks?

Unfortunately i am always thinking of reuse. So 30 denier panty hose work for me. You can get them with different designs. I think stockings and corset or g-string are much sexier but where I go I don't show my sexy.

*smiles* Nor me do I show my sexy at work. I love that phrase Dawn, "show my sexy" ... we all have our sexy! To get my government job I had to cut my lovely long blond hair  :icon_cry2: and hide my sexy. :(

Today I had to go and get my official ID with picture for this year and of course my sexy was hidden. I'm in the wig club now away from work and not sure if I will ever be able to grow my own hair out again. I needed this job, the benefits are amazing.

As far as the OP, my fav thing to do is wear an A cup bra which fits me well and does push a little out to make some wonder but does not out me at work. But, it feels so good to have my "girls" supported and "out" a bit. :)

I love dresses!!

Either are fine, great for underdressing, and delightfully feminine. Why not experiment and see which you prefer, or, wear thigh highs some days and pantyhose on other days. (Not stockings with garter belt or OBG, though—the straps are too noticeable under pants.) I've often done it, but wore men's socks over the hose to protect "my secret." A couple things to consider: pantyhose rule out standing at a urinal to pee, and buy good quality thigh highs that fit you so that they don't end up around your ankles just as you are walking into your boss's office for a meeting. I understand the need. I've underdressed most of my adult life (and I agree with the advice given above about stealth bra-wearing). Nancy

Hi Gabrielle,
Whatever you prefer for underwear is of no concern to others.  Panties, camisoles stockings are all fair game and pretty discrete, though of course your ankles will show when you're sitting.  You can wear socks over the stockings if that's a concern. I don't know what your taste in shoes is, but I went through a period a while back where I wore trouser socks off the women's rack and some neutral women's running shoes.  That felt pretty comfortable.

I agree with others. Pantyhose is your go to garment for underdressing.

Hose under pants will likely warm you up more than you are used to. They will act as a thermal layer. That just may come in handy during winter.

Thank you so much to everyone that shared their experiences and advice about undergarments. I feel inspired to not only dip my toes into the panty pool but I am definitely interested in trying the pantyhose as well. Still trying to keep things going slow for my wife but I'm very excited to begin allowing myself to be myself. I was over looking on Amazon and there are so many choices in panties and for pantyhose. How can anybody ever decide? I am thinking about going with the boy short style for support purposes. I'm torn between something lacy or something satiny. So many pretty choices. Love and faith.

Here in Florida, hardly anyone wears nylon stockings. They are just too hot.

Gabrielle, Word of caution about panties: some boy short styles, although cute, are loose fitting at the crotch and do not hold in the "bits" as you might want. Cute and functional are not always the same. Many t-girls look for panties with more substantial gussets such as Vanity Fair (which happens to be my preferred brand). Another factor is whether you want nylon (for the silky feel) or microfiber (that can give you more choices of patterns and will hold you more firmly through the day). BTW, as someone mentioned above, cami's are wonderful for underdressing. You can find them in sensuous fabrics and delightful colors. Have fun! Nancy

Wearing a bra gives a really feminine sensation, and even if you have only a very little up top, you will appreicate the support.

Some tips to avoid being caught:

Nancy,

I appreciate this advice. In my mind the boyshort seemed like the closest thing to say a boxer and that's why I was thinking that it was have more support. Not that I have a lot to support but there is something so I guess I'd ask for suggestions on what specific style might be best for a bit more support. I'm on the larger side but working my way down. I've 5'6" and about 228. I carry most of my weight in my midsection. Any suggestions on an ideal style and brand would be awesome. I planned on making an order today :) I'm excited to be doing this. Love and faith.

Pantyhose work great under slacks, not quite so well under jeans.  Be sure to keep your nails in good shape to avoid ruining them. And you will have to sit to pee, which is not really a bad thing.
Try wearing a thin cami or tank with a bit of lace trim under a dress shirt to make you feel more girly. Remember that colors often show through a white shirt, (which for me is a plus!)

I am a Vanity Fair girl, and many t-girls wear them because of the wide gusset. Soma brand are also popular and Soma stores are known to be comfortable with and used to men buying panties and bras for themselves. I've bought there "in drab" and always been treated respectfully. Many t-girls like hi-cut briefs or hipsters, but I prefer full-cut or "granny" panties which you might find most comfortable if you have a bit of a tummy. But, why not buy a variety of styles and experiment. BTW, HerRoom has a page for men with recommendations and reviews for panties for men. Another trans-friendly online store. Nancy

I wear pantyhose daily and don't have a problem with peeing standing up.  I used to wear stockings daily, but the ones I wore were discontinued and since my panties and garter belts were getting beat up, I switched to pantyhose full time.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.
