I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet, so I'll bite. As I'm sure many of you know the tv show supergirl has a new transgender character. The season only started this past weekend, and they haven't mentioned her being trans in universe yet. However, they do seem to be starting a plot line about the concept of passing, how it is both important and problematic at the same time. Anyways it will be interesting to see where this goes.

I thought I'd start a thread for discussion purposes.

The role of Nia Nal is being played by trans actress Nicole Maines. 

The book "Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family " is about her and her family as she was growing up.
