Honestly I'm not sure about the whole breast thing. I feel like, unless I can pass, they will just make me stick out and just be too super obvious. So I'm sort of hoping that they don't get too big, so that I can easily hide them. Does that make me 'not trans enough' or something? I love what HRT is doing to my body and what it has the potential to do, but I'm scared about the breasts. I'm short and pretty slim, so I'm hoping that my breasts don't get too big.

Thoughts?

Nope if I get over D cup I'm going to see about making em smaller... don't want huge breasts.

There is no such thing as 'not trans' enough... anyone telling you that is the real fake.

And it is not wrong to want a breast reduction. Not everyone is after big breasts. I personally don't want anything too big. There is still part of my mind that is fighting against the real me... when you spend 44 years hiding, it becomes part of your nature to want to hide. So sounds perfectly natural to me that you are still wanting to hide.

But ask yourself, if you had been born a cis woman, what size breasts would you have liked?  Are you wanting small breasts because that is what you genuinely want or are you wanting them so that you can continue to hide who you are? 

If the former, then that is perfectly fine. If the latter then it is not so much the breasts that are the issue but your fear and possible sense of shame. Which is another issue that you need to learn to overcome... I am still working on overcoming mine, but I find being on these forums regularly, chatting with people online, and visiting my local trans group (one of the scariest things I did but absolutely brilliant) are helping me overcome the fear.

Just be you and go for what you want. Don't let anyone tell you that you are not trans enough (well perhaps listen to the experts if you've had more than 3 independent opinions)...

The simple answer is "No it is not weird" and I can think of a couple of reasons:

1. One has GD but is not able to publicly transition for career or social or other reasons (either never or for some considerable time) and decide to start on low dose HRT and remain on low dose HRT to counteract to some degree the GD. You gain emotionally but physical development happens slower such that your breast buds followed by actual breasts occur later and remain small. In this instance you would wish them to remain small or be smaller if they became to obvious as you are for very good reasons hiding. There are a number of girls here on Susans in that category.    or

2. One has decided to publicly transition and desire breasts and go on HRT and receive satisfactory emotional and physical benefits but the breasts are either too large for the body or they are poorly shaped or droop from the weight. In this case you would want some amendment or reduction.

Clearly you wish to grow breasts as all girls do but please do not think of "Am I trans enough?" as there is no such thing as there is no level to attain or test to pass. We are all transgender.

As for me, I am growing breasts with which I am pleased after 8 months HRT but I am inclined to think in 2020 I may need BA - so no reduction for me thanks.

No, not at all. We all have our own personal preferences for every body part. The most important question we should ask ourselves is, are you comfortable with your body as it is now? Big breasts or smaller breasts, skinny or full figured, too tall or too short, not enough hair on top of your head or too much hair on your face, these are all questions about personal preference and are not the central issue. For most of us we just want to pass as our perceived gender. We do not want to stand out as trans, but rather just blend in and look normal, whatever that is.

Speaking for myself, breasts are very much over rated. What do breasts really do? They feed new born babies, attract men and get in the way.

Oh yes... I like have the breasts of a teenager on this 44 year old body. Kinda matches being tall (relatively) slim.

I have relative mall breasts currently (between A and B cup), I would not want more that a D cup size, but I am not on HRT yet, so I have to see if I become the breast super star or not.

I have currently no desire to be in female clothing, and hop it will stay that way.  Men's clothing is more comfortable and rationale.  But that make me not less Trans.  Trans is not a matter of clothing but what is going on in your head.  I want to be a woman really bad, but one who wears men's clothing.
Who cares, it is your life and you have to feel comfortable in your body!
