« You have forwarded or responded to this message. » ReplyQuoteDeleteFriends. It is unfortunate, but Susan's Place is NOT a safe place for you or for members of our community. Not all transgender sites are intentionally insecure, but in places like this, not only can 500+ guests and bots scour the site at any given time, but an alarming number of these appear to be coming from our enemies. It is an info haven for people who mean you harm. In itself, that is not why you are receiving this message.
You are reading this because certain high-ranking staff members here, with Susan's knowledge, are sweeping this espionage under the rug. You may have suspected some of this already, and she is now trying to distract from it with words, but no real action at all. In short, all the account info here is available to people regularly and unfairly given such access without any explanation. A place that allows such things, even when aware of it (which they should be), is an insult to your trust.
We have explained these things in kind terms to Susan after a deep investigation with our peers, hoping she would do the right thing. She has not. She has consistently diverted attention away from this issue, and ignored requests for clarification.
Please, use this knowledge well. We want all trans people to be safe.
After seeing this pattern repeated in many transgender forums, we have begun to create a progressive space addressing the struggles we face in the trans community. We aim to move forward and forge productive discussions with one another, creating a round table for helping each other and building a better community. We wish to create a group dedicated to equality and privacy. Our goals are twofold: to create a safe place where transgender people can interact without fear of surveillance, and to create a capable group willing to stand up for our rights.
Having reviewed your recent posts, we have determined that your beliefs would be a good fit for our community. Therefore, we extend to you an invitation to join as a founding member when we launch later this week. No money, personal identity info, etc, is necessary. If you are interested you may email us at
wearethefuture@linuxmail.orgIf you accept this invitation, we will follow up with instructions for creating a secure email account, which should only be used to access our site. Having accounts like this does wonders for your privacy. Why suffer the risks of an enemy, when you can enjoy the comfort of worthy friends?
In our community, your passion and desire for change will be used for good.
Signed,
Rabbit and Kitten
