Hi, so i thought id leave this review as choosing an SRS/GRS surgeon is a Minefield these  days I thought I'd give an account of my experience. So, I'm from the UK and in 2002 i was looking for an srs surgeon. All the results of the UK options were bad, i mean really bad, the only one i took note of was Micheal Royale. But upon further research i found Dr Suporn. His results compared to all the other surgeons was outstanding at the time, but i had to travel across the world to see him. I did more research and decided it was worth the trip, although i was a bit apprehensive at the time. Travelling to what i considered a third world country, was not my ideal option but I was only 22 and it was the early days of the internet. I found him on the srs results page on annelawrence.com although this page has been down for years as far as i can tell.

So I went to the Dr. Suporn clinic web page, had an email chat with Dr. Kim and booked surgery. I had FFS in the june, came home and flew back out for srs in the November.

Was I happy with the results? OH GOD YES! This man saved my life, for the first time i was able to live my life fully as myself, so happy with the results as no one else could do what he could do. So after surgery I had 6.5 inches of depth and to be honest, i had very little material to work with. By the time i got home i had 6 inches, still very happy. I lived most of my 20's the way as any young woman that age should do, living life to the full (and making lots of bad decisions and ending up in random men's beds, LOL).

FAST FORWARD TO 2018

I had the skin graft technique. My depth has lost 3/4 of an inch every 5 years despite regular dilation, I now have about 3 and a half inches thereabouts. I have soreness up the left side of my vagina which has been ongoing since srs which i was told would go away which hasn't and still bleeds every time i dilate  or have intercourse and after which it is uncomfortable for me to  to sit for the next day. I went back for a revision in December 2005 with my best friend who had her SRS and FFS which are on Dr Suporns web page to this day, and the other women on his FFS page are the same women I met there, so he hasn't updated his FFS pics in 13 years, longer for his srs pics.
So 15 years later I'm having to have revision SRS with a sigmoidcolon surgery, at the moment I'm heavily considering Dr, Kamol to replace my lost vaginal depth as well as a cosmetic revision to improve the appearance of my vulva.

IN CONCLUSION

Dr Suporn Is a great SRS surgeon, although he's more or less retired. Recent things about him I've heard are not great which is probably more due to the new surgeon hes taken on. Dr Suporn Has a great reputation and very much deserved but him personally is not doing many surgeries these days and is set to retire completely in 2019.
I had a great, and fantastic experience with him and his staff in Thailand the 3 times i went there, but here i am now. I thought the surgery stuff was over but I have to go through more again a decade an a half later.

Take what you want from this, but i'm giving an accurate account of my experiences To help women make a realistic and informed decision about their health.

Thank you for your candor,  Samantha. I think it is vitally important to those who are in that desperate position that we were in 30, 40, almost 50 years ago, to clearly understand their options and the long-term consequences of their actions.

Thanks for posting that. There's not much info available on the longer term results.

About the ongoing pain, do you know what's causing it?

How often have you been dilating over the years?

I'm not too impressed with this considering the clinic is still going with new surgeon(s). I get the feeling that they haven't thought this through properly.

Long term results are out there, they just require digging.. And there are more than a few post-op women out there simply living their lives - they don't think or talk about their neovaginas.

I'm only guessing but I'd suspect an adhesion or misaligned skin graft.. Given the bleeding, the 2nd is more likely.

I know a fair few people who have, in the past, found that his "guarantee" was not worth the paper it was printed on - including some where he clearly made surgical errors, so I'm not surprised that it will die with his working career.
This is not medical advice. Always consult your doctor.

Don't worry, Suporn is a good choice and you will have a great experience there. Other suporn girls i've known who went to him a few years after i did have had no issues, and no depth loss and are fine. I think that i'm probably one of the unlucky ones.

I'm not sure about the pain, It feels like the graft never really healed properly.

Dilating wise, for the first year i dilated as instructed, and once a day throughout the following year, with some days missed here and there due to life etc then down to twice a week for 6 months and then down to once a week there after. So i probably dilated more than what was required and every thing was fine or i thought. I didnt realise i was loosing depth for a good few years as it happened so gradually. 1/16th of an inch every 3 months or so, you don't notice it especially when dilating 15- 20 mins once a week.

Yep I was one of those women just living my life, and i dont think there are many women out there who would even admit they had issues either. The thing that brought me on here was to try and find some help and advice of where to go to fix my problem which became more obvious to me last year when i got into a relationship for just over a year and well sex was a bit of an issue for me, more so than it had been in the past so i decided i need to do something about it.
