We started watching Secret City, an Aussie spy thriller, on Acorn. In the first couple of episodes, there is a trans female character. Unfortunately, that character is played by a cis male actor.

The portrayal of the character is sympathetic. The person is a professional and is shown in the workplace. Apparently she transitioned in the workplace. She is not shown doing anything "trans-y"; being trans is mostly incidental to the story. All of that is good.
Unfortunately, having a cis male actor play the part is jarring. He, the actor, doesn't really look like one of us. Perhaps the character hasn't been on HRT for long? It is sad that they have a male actor playing the part. I am sure that, in a country the size of Australia, they could have found a trans actor to play the part.
