Hon, that's awful. (Hugs)

Sadly it seems you've found out now that she is an alpha female - queen bee if you like. She, until your reveal, had little to no competition in your area. And now she has, and she's in a really bad place. Talk to HR, but focus on the bullying/harassment angles, as you gain most traction that way.

We are all here for you, as always - you've been able to achieve so much already, you can do this too, in a heartbeat.

Thank you all  for your responses. I am going through a very difficult time right now but being able to post out on susans really helps me .. helps me feel stronger.

Charlene, I do believe it was a kind of project for her to start with but the hostility started early on. At first I thought she was just being hard on me because I was struggling with being Katherine at work. But looking back I  realize that she found my coming out as something offensive and really not acceptable. At times I did act badly, not understanding what was going on, but this was because I was feeling hurt and betrayed. I do think it is  on her though.

Billie, I have been fearful about going to management or to HR because I felt things might become even worse and some of her allies may turn on me.. but  I feel I need to do something since things have been escalating and attacks have become more personal. I do have a good relationship with someone in HR so this should help.  Thanks for the encourgement.

Jill, I would agree that the situation was more about bullying and intimidation then a bias about my being trans but not completely. She has tried to undermine my life story and also questioned my decision making about coming out  at work .. as if it were some kind of mistake.  This is quite ironic since she was the one who pushed me early on.

Dear Katherine:
I am convinced that when I write our things that I am going through in my life, sometimes unpleasant things, that the exercise of just writing about it and getting organized in my mind, really helps me to process all of those feelings, and perhaps be able to formulate positive solutions.
I consider it good personal therapy.

For more private and personal stuff I have always, since middle school, kept a pen and paper diary/journal complete with doodling, pictures, copy of letters and reports, etc.   Again, for me, it is terrific and helpful personal therapy.

I trust that will find a way to satisfactory resolve your work situation and any other difficult things that you are going through.   For sure, keep your thread updated and perhaps start a private journal as well....   hopefully all of that provides a way to clear you mind and to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hugs, and well wishes,
Danielle
