Hello, please may you advice me. 4 weeks ago I was on FFS. I can“t still look into the mirror. my chin is so big and very disbalanced. My forehead is disguisting (especialy eyebrow, which goes down - i look sad). People who are arround me tells me, that I am swollen, but I am not sure if it is possible and even if the swelling goes down I simply hate the way it looks.
Did you had any similar experiences?

Thank you!

I've read many posts advising people to stay away from mirrors immediately after FFS, because you're not going to like what you see until the swelling and bruising have had a chance to subside. Things are going to change and swelling will move for quite some time.

Hugs, Devlyn

Devlyn is right.  Don't worry about what you see in the mirror right now - you need more time.

FFS is not a single surgery - it's a collection of surgeries customized for each patient.  Recovery time depends whether your jaw work involved trimming the jaw bone or more complex sliding metoidioplasty, method of forehead bone revision (type 1, type 3), etc.  I've been surprised to see bone work can recover faster than soft-tissue work.

I had just my eyelids operated on 18 months before FFS.  My eyes looked pretty bad for more than a month.  At 6 weeks everything changed and I was super happy.  My FFS recovery was quite fast, but that was mostly bone work and not soft-tissue other than the nose.
