Hey all, I got my updated passport yesterday with my new name and my new sex marker. I filed it the day after the memo dropped and paid for the expedited service. Just FYI for all the US people here that they haven't changed those rules yet.

Wonderful news!  No more worries about traveling.
But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

Well, this is certainly an affirming and exciting thing... seeing your new name and correct gender...
and your female picture on an important government document is such a happy event.

Along with your new birth certificate and now with your new passport you are all set to have every document in your life get easily changed and corrected.   No more explaining to the customs agent or to anyone else, you are officially a female!!!

Thank you for sharing with all of us... best wishes to you as always,
Hugs,
Danielle

I actually haven't done my birth certificate yet, since my previous passport was still valid I didn't need one. This is also helpful since A passport can be used in lieu of a birth certificate for most things.

Only a couple of states allow updating gender on birth certificate without GCS. I had my name changed on mine as part of of my paperwork at my court hearing.  Just had to pay a small fee to do it and really small fee to get a couple copies. It's an  amended version so still references my old name. Probably won't bother with having the gender marker changed due to my age and my passport being correct.

I really need to get around to doing my passport.  I've had the paperwork ready but haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment at a post office or other place for whatever reason they require.
