Hey All,

A bit of pre-surgery nerves from me - just landed in Marbella today for my Facial Team surgery on Tuesday.

Not really sure what to ask here - how about, is it normal???

I'm excited and nervous and for the longest time I was definitely more excited than nervous but I'd honestly say that's turned around in the last week.

I'll be sure to post follow ups on this thread as I go through the process.

Much love.

Are you kidding me?  Somebody cutting on your head, grinding on your skull, and stitching it all back together is absolutely in no way something to get nervous about.

Just kidding, I'm doing the same thing in a month and you bet I'll be nervous as can be.

Hi Sophie,

Is it normal to be nervous a few days prior to surgery? I would worry if you weren't nervous! But I do like your balance between pre surgery nerves and excitement about taking this big step in achieving your goals. You will do fine, you get to do the easy part, go into surgery and take a nap, then a few weeks of feeling sore and out of sorts and questioning everything......and then loving your new looks.

Bye the way, I will be doing the same thing in Marbella in a few months so I look forward to your ongoing story and details of your recovery.

Go for it girl,
Tia Anne

I get nervous going under to have the oral surgeon work on my mouth, even when I know there won't be much pain afterwards.

Hi Sophie! I would imagine it's normal to be nervous. I can't peak from experience, yet, as I'm still waiting on the excited side of FFS but it's a big affirming step in your life. I'm sure you will be fine and in a very short time, this will just be a memory and you will be beautiful. Congratulations! I am happy for you.

Hugs,
Donica.

Hi Sophie,

I once remember a surgeon saying that if a patient is not nervous prior to surgery then he might not perform the operation.

I think I know what he meant.

You will be fine and are in safe hands and don't worry about being more nervous than excited just before surgery, it's perfectly normal.

Enjoy the journey to becoming the new you ... 😎 and look forward to your post-op posts.

Hugs

Paula

Hey, it is absolutely normal to be nervous ahead of a surgery!  I used to cut people open, but I am still nervous if somebody wants to cut me open!  It is just normal!
I don't know what the specific surgeon meant, but any surgeon wants the involvement of the patient and the patient buying into the surgery, because that is very important for the post surgery healing,  And if you are not nervous prior to the procedure, you are distanced from it and might not be good post operative in taking care of the wounds!

If I would be the patient, I would want to know what their steril procedures are, how they sterilize the equipment, and what kind of sterile presentation do they have.  But the answers for this may not mean anything to you.
Otherwise, it is always of advantage to be the first patient of the day for any given procedure!

Good luck and enjoy Marbella, I love it there!

Well I'm in bright and early at 9am :)

I think I'm the only patient of the day (it's a longish procedure so I'd be surprised if they can fit multiple people into 1 day)

See you when you wake up!

In the figurative, through the internet sort of way.  I'm not actually stalking you.

Better a little longer and well done than a rush job!  It will not make any real difference for your feeling, how long the procedure was.

Good luck, and see you again as a very pretty lady!

All done - up and moving about, eating, limited bruising and aside from the DIY going on in the hospital then it's all fine.

I mean, seriously, when recovering from head trauma, who hires someone to drill into walls?!?

Really good to hear that you are doing well!
That DIY might be part of the program to toughen you up for your future life?

All good - another beautiful day in Marbella, slightly more bruising today but only above one eye so not so bad.

Hair washing / showering / some proper clothes and a walk around in the garden to come.

Well done Sophie ...😎

With Facial Team, it's just a walk in the park ...😉

Excuse the pun.
