I'm considering starting a YouTube channel, mainly to practice my voice, but to also interact with others with similar experiences.  I'm not sure what to call it or if I should limit to any topics.

Things I'm considering are:

Beer making
Beer tasting
Arcade games
Pinball
Vita games
Trans issues
My own creations from The Rebel Unit and Gothic Glow.
Beef Jerky making

I have a tiny gallery/home office (400 sq ft) to use as my space which has is decent for this.

Im interested in your thoughts on topics, what to call this, titles, equipment to use or not use, whether anybody would actually tune in, etc.

I really appreciate a YouTube channel which I can listen to without necessarily watching, the voice editing is important to me. Humour thrown in really helps. My current favourites are:

Abom79 (metal machining)
This Old Tony (metal machining)
Binging With Babish (cooking)
Squirrel Hunter Channel (hunting/pest control)

Thanks!  I do listen to the left and the right, however, my politics are my own.  I do not plan on entering into any political discussion beyond spay and neuter your pets:)

Bari Jo said she wanted to discuss trans issues.  Not sure if your aware but trans issues have BECOME political.  Largely because of a Republican President who wants to erase us from existence and use us as a wedge issue to rile up his base.

400 sqft is HUGE! You got space girl. I say go for it. I don't know about YouTube videos being censored all that much. I follow a couple trans women on there as well. I personally can't stand the politics, but there's a lot of videos on both sides of the fence. I say speak to whatever interests you and you'll find an audience to collaborate with. ❤

I am bad with names... but I'd do a play on Pinball/flipper terms. Or you could get a fantasia hat and be the pinball wizard that the Who always spoke about. Still being open to other topics, and "flip" back and forth on topics pinging on each one. 😊

Have a look for blue yeti microphones if ure serious about it or keep in mind for the future. They always get recomended for a starting channel.

I've seen people rave about those as well.  I already have a condenser mic from jbl.  I don't like how obtrusive it is though.  Since I'd be recording video on my tiny Sony camera, I looked what other people use, and one outlines using a zoom h1 attached as a rig to your camera.  I liked the demonstration online and I'll go with that.

I'm still unsure what to call it.  Maybe just The Corner.  I don't know.

I would personally love to see that content Bari Jo!
It is unfortunate that you tube is a nasty corporate entity but I guess if one appreciates the downsides of YouTube your content can get out there without damage to you.

I've got it all set up, but realize I need to use a different lens and need better lighting.  I'll purchase that stuff in the next month or so.  I did decide on a name for the channel, I'm not posting it though:)

I like it and it sounds like a lot of fun.  Beer making and tasting and tie it into or with food.  I also love the pinball and arcade games idea.  Some of those old school games are really fun to play. 

It would be nice to see a Youtube channel done by a trans person on various topics of interest.  I guess I've not hit the right trans Youtuber yet.  What I've seen to this point is them droning on and on about all their issues and the drama in their lives.
