Men Who Get Pregnant and the Media Who Love Them

I suppose one could only expect the mainstream media to be fascinated when they hear that a man is pregnant; that is, after all, the story line in the 'high-concept' (as they call it in Hollywood) film, "Junior." The 1994 movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger — perhaps even more implausibly now governor of California — as a man who gets pregnant as part of a fertility research project. And so when life imitates art (assuming a movie like "Junior" could be termed 'art') and a man actually does become pregnant, it is simply too irresistible for the media to, well, resist.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
