"I'd hang you from the nipples, but you'd shock the children."
"It's Christmas 1183, and King Henry II is planning to announce his successor to the throne. The jockeying for the crown, though, is complex. Henry has three sons and wants his boy Prince John to take over. Henry's wife, Queen Eleanor, has other ideas. She believes their son Prince Richard should be king. As the family and various schemers gather for the holiday, each tries to make the indecisive king choose their option."
The Lion in Winter
PG | 2h 14min | Biography , Drama , History | 30 October 1968 (USA)

Haven't seen it but is there anything the internet doesn't know? Love Anthony Hopkins!

Posted a Plot here: Reply #117 on: Today at 14:08:13 ยป What movie?
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!

Ding, ding, ding!!!  That's my favorite movie of all time. I'm not fun to watch it with, however. The dialogue is all so wonderfully chewy that talking during the movie is not something I will tolerate.  :eusa_naughty:

Okay, another one, from another of my all-time favorite films:

"Now - everybody throw down your guns or I scrape off all her make up!
[considers the face in question]
This might take a really long time."
"I will not have my life narrowed down. I will not bow down to somebody else's whim or to someone else's ignorance" - bell hooks

Okay, another one, from another of my all-time favorite films:

Quote from: Tank GirlA girl is among the few survivors of a dystopian Earth. Riding a war tank, she fights against the tyranny of a mega-corporation that dominates the remaining potable water supply of the planet
. New one to me! What was I doing in 1995?

Skipped one here: The Plot:
"It is late 22nd century and global warming caused rising sea levels that have wiped out coastal cities such as Amsterdam, Venice, and New York and drastically reduced world" population. A new type of robots called Mecha, advanced humanoids capable of thought and emotion, have been created."

Next!
"When I introduce you, and I tell them who you are, I don't think anyone will stay for dinner".
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

Unsure 'bout this one: Planes, Trains & Automobiles?
"A man must struggle to travel home for Thanksgiving with an obnoxious slob of a shower curtain ring salesman as his only companion."

"Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence." ( unless one is "transgender"? )

Sherlock Holmes is correct! Natalie, is your butt in need of constant saving?

Oh I see! New quote! Sean Connery on The Rock!

Can't think of anything memorable at the moment!

There are actually two movies that use this quote. I've seen the Rock many times but I'm not sure if that's the correct answer?

I didn't realize that line was in multiple movies. Yes The Rock, it was Mason berating Goodspeed.

[describing her experimental night in college sleeping with two gay men]

1st character: It wasn't like they took turns. It was all at once. Every which way. Rather like a marvelous pretzel.

2nd character: Ooh. Pretzelingus.

Battle Goddess

"Remember, you're fighting for this woman's honor, which is probably more than she ever did."

Nobody followed up on this one? I am depressed.

That was the irreplaceable Groucho Marx, playing Rufus T. Firefly, flaying the hide from Margaret Dumont's stately Mrs. Teasdale in Duck Soup.

Another example of their dialogue:

Rufus T. Firefly: Not that I care, but where is your husband?
Mrs. Teasdale: Why, he's dead.
Rufus T. Firefly: I bet he's just using that as an excuse.
Mrs. Teasdale: I was with him to the very end.
Rufus T. Firefly: No wonder he passed away.
Mrs. Teasdale: I held him in my arms and kissed him.
Rufus T. Firefly: Oh, I see, then it was murder. Will you marry me? Did he leave you any money? Answer the second question first.
Mrs. Teasdale: He left me his entire fortune.
Rufus T. Firefly: Is that so? Can't you see what I'm trying to tell you? I love you.

Now for my suggestion:

Didn't see Parting Glances (1986) . . . by RoryL above!

That was Connor MacLeod in Highlander! (left out the "he he he>:-) )

Just finished watching Next One: FtM's take note I love the concept behind this show! Everyone has a "stack" and we'd be called "cross-sleeving"!
"Technology advances, but humans don't. We're smart monkeys, and what we want is always the same. Food, shelter, sex, and in all its forms, escape"

What we believe shapes who we are. Belief can bring us salvation or destruction. But when you believe a lie for too long, the truth doesn't set you free. It tears you apart.
.

( That last line reminds me of -> lostintransgender.org/2018/06/the-fear-of-becoming-woman.html?zx=ceb194a43b6e3dc8 thus why I've always been "au natural" and have never done anything permanent! I am back from Las Vegas, middle seat whole way, and am a trans/grand-parent again of a 8lb/4oz sex == BOY! lol Told daughter can't tell "gender" until old enough to ask!)
