Hi,
I am so so glad and happy I landed on this wonderful site.
I came out to my wife M on my 62 birthday ( my present to myself ) we have been married 16 years.  I have been cross dressing since I was about 11.  We were in bed that night and I was sad, she picked up on it!  She said are you down tonight
And the flood gate's opened up.  I could not live this way any longer. So I blurted out after much Coaxing that I like to dress as a women. I told her how sorry I was that I did not tell her before we got married but like most I figured she would run for the hills.
She listened to my story never once did she interrupt me.  When I was done she said it's ok I have known for many years that you like to wear women's clothes. I asked how she knew and she said I would not return her things back either folded the right way or in the same spot.( God women can't be fooled ) So she took me out and picked out a few tops and skirts and a dress for me. So I am taking it slow working on makeup. Can't seems to get the eye shadow down. Thank you for listening to my ramblings.

  Hi  AJ,

I'm Laurie, the wandering waif of Susan's Place. I would like tou welcome you to Susan's Place. I am glad that you have found us and would also like to extend an invite to that wonderful woman you have found. Such accepting women are hard to find so cherish her AJ.
I am a late transitioner MtF. Like you, I began early in life envying girls and wishing I wasn't a boy I began borrowing things from my sisters and my mom. I never was caught by them that I am aware of. Whew! I am now 66 and grew up with the societal stigmas of the times knowing the wearing  girls clothes was wrong. This knowledge caused me great heartache throughout my life. I grew up with low self esteem and a lot of self hate. This was not good for relationships. But I did find a woman to love and we had 2 children. My anger and self hate  caused much damage to my family. I have lost them all through divorce, death of my son, and my daughter including 5 grandchildren through rejection when I came out as transgender to them. This that we do to be who we truly are is a difficult thing. But it can be our only salvation too.
I did not realize I was more than a crossdresser until 2 years ago. The was when I heard about gender dysphoria and discovered the issues fit me. I finally knew I was transgender. Unfortunately it came too late for my marriage and my daughter could nat accept it. It hurt, hurt a lot and I wanted my life to end. I had lost my reason to live, my purpose in life. Obviously I did not end my life. Instead I tried an anti-depressant and it work. I since was able to visit a mtf woman from here on Susan's. We are now girlfriends and I honestly believe she saved my life. So though our journeys can be the hardest thing we can do for ourselves, there is also such a chance to be happy that the journey is worth it.
Again Welcome to Susan's Place. Come on in. To assist you with becoming familiar with our site. I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.

Thank you Laurie for the wonderful welcome.
From all the posts that I have read here it is so inviting and non judgmental and all the lady's are so very friendly and willing to answer questions with their vast knowledge.

AJ

Hi Maid Marion
Thank you for the Welcome.
Yes you are so correct about M she is a great wife I am very lucky to have found her.  I look forward to chatting with you and all the gals here that want to chat.
I am in Fort Worth TX and would love to go out shopping with other ladies in my area. Macy's and Nordstrom's are so nice and helpful and Torrid has great stuff in large sizes that fit large girl type bodies.

Hello AJ, wow, you have one gem of a wife. Don't lose her whatever you do.  I love my wife deeply but she is not even close to being as accepting as yours regarding my transition.  I'm so happy for you. Take care and keep us updated on your journey.

Hi Susan
Yes I am a lucky lady.  We both believe people should enjoy  themselves and other.
Oury son came out as gay and we always knew it.  And we both love  him no matter what.
So when he told us it was just before my 62 birthday. So on my birthday I told her that I love to wear ladies cloths.
She  already knew. So I went easier for me thank God.
It's cheaper to keep me.   Lol

Hi AJ...

Thanks again for your sweet welcome back to me and allow me to extend another welcome aboard to you dear little sister... 🙋‍♀️💕🙏

I started this at age 52 ( I am 57 now) ... I have seen much of this brave new world you are stepping into and I want you to know aN important truth to be found here...it is never to late to put a life on it's true course and move towards what we need our life to be...One that reflects who we truly are...

Do not focus on some destination you seek to hit with transition...  your relationship etc... rather love the feel... the liberation... the empowerment of the process of showing your true face to the world and taking the steps to get there at whatever speed suits you....

Whatever destinations we see as large of nes become just stepping stones to what's next in the big scheme of things... in 2013 when I started transition, I was a UXO bomb technician... now I am a housewife and a soon o be grandma... I never saw that coming in in the years before 2014 but there is great value in knowing we don't have our lives figured out and planned to our last day... Enjoy all that will come your way sister and alwYs let m know if I can help!!!

Onward we go brave girl...

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face.... amg🌸

Thank you Ashley
You are so right about that I agree 200%.
I am taking everyday as a new beginning slow and steady gets you to the finish line. I can't move to fast due to the fact I have a 13 yr old daughter. ( yea I know what the heck where you thinking)
But my SO M is 17 yrs my jr. She told me she wanted one more child and I had no problem with that.  And the little girl is the best thing I have ever done . So I can wait for her to get done with high school. And then I can be more open. We don't want to have that going on while she is in school other kids can be so mean.

Hi AJ... As I said... whatever speed suits your needs will be the correct timetable... I sprinted and others walk ... it matters not... What you will feel is that now that you have turned and faced the right direction on your life's compass, every step, big or small will bring you closer to where you want to be and closer to living a life that reflects truly, the woman who has hidding for a lifetime... All good things to you as you journey forward dear sister!

Onward we go!

Hi AJ, I just joined this site as well. I have been transitioned for a couple of years now.  I read your story.  Bravo on being so brave.  We are conditioned our entire lives by the society around us, TV, movies, comedy and much worse sometimes hate - that we should be ashamed of being who we really are.

Having the courage to tell your wife is so amazing, and even better having such an understanding and loving spouse is wonderful.  You are very fortunate.

While it is far too early in your journey to see where this path will lead you I can tell you that I have friends that are fully transitioned and are still married to their wives.  Certainly not all the time but it happens.

It is far too early to see where you will go but I did want to throw that out there as I know it may be a concern.

Good luck and CONGRATS !!
The first transphobe you have to conquer is yourself

Hi nice to meet you.  M and I were just talking about where this is going and she told me this is a clean page in the chapter of your lives. You are correct its early in this book to know what the outcome is going to be. Hope to hear more from you. Thank you for the words of wisdom.

Well M and I were talking last night and I told her that there are ladies on the site that suggest that she join in.  She said she is not at that point yet.   But I laid the ground work. So we shall see what happens.
