What are the most essential types and styles of women's shoes and boots for your wardrobe, and why?  Also, for each one, do you need multiple colors, if so, which colors?

I cannot imagine needing (as compared to wanting) any more than perhaps 20 pairs, but please note that I freely admit that my female wardrobe savvy is very low when it comes to shoes and boots.

If it is easier to post pictures of shoes than to describe them in detail, that might work very well!  But do say something with the picture, such as "a nice pair of comfortable flats like the ones above is great for business casual outfits."

There is no need to describe or picture all kinds of shoes or boots in just one post.  Post ideas when you have time.

Thank you so much ladies.

These Minnetonka kneehigh moccasins. If I can't have them, take away my oxygen, too!  ;D

My wardrobe essentials are a fair mix of browns and blacks. All depends on the season too. Sumer is more whites. I have a few pairs of pumps and strapy heels for nights out, a couple of booties both open toe and closed, combat boots both low heel and flat, ballet flats, tennis shoes, a couple pairs of sandals and of course a few knee and above knee boots, one of those is a pair of flat riding boots and I have two heeled pairs one brown and one black.

My go to is my low heel combat booties. Super comfortable and they go with almost anything.

As far as the uggs, look at Bearpaw. They're cheaper than UGG and just as comfortable in my experience

They were made a few miles away from my former residence.  I have those as low moccasins

Having lived in Minnesonowta for most of my adult life, I, of course, have two pairs of Uggs!  They keep the footies Ok warm, but can't be used in sow.

I have about 7-8 pairs of boots. Ankle, knee-high, flat and high heel boots. Here it is relatively warm in winter, but I have many chances to wear long boots. Actually in snowy and slippery days, I wear flat long boots rather than high heel boots.

In my freeze/thaw climate I need two pairs of snow boots.  Usually start off with pair of Sorels and switch to a cute pair of Khombus when the Sorels get soaked from too much melting snow.

I would love to have a pair of those over the knee boots (for a reasonable price).  I was all excited when TJ Max did send me the link to their sale, and worked my way through the pages.  Not a single boot is larger than a 10!  Who in the world has those tiny baby feet?  Certainly not a 6' woman with Viking genes!

Guilty! Depending on the shoe I'm between a 7 and 8. Always struggled finding men's shoes (size 5.5 or 6) in the past but now the shoe aisle is my oyster lol.

How tiny (short) are you girls to be able to walk through the world with those small feet?

Geez Chrissy, I consider myself a clothes horse -- especially for shoes and I'm content with 5 pr - two each flats and pumps, a pair of stiletto heels. My next add will be calf lenth boots, maybe riding boot style, maybe a moderate heel .. TBD.

I'd love to own twenty pair, however for now that's outside my financial reach.

Long Tall Sally has women's boots to men's size 15. I was able to get a pair of demi boots (mid calf) for under $90. Size 14 fit me perfectly. Don't even try Pleaser boots with 5-6 inch heels. At our age it is tough enough to stand up let alone walk around in the dang things.  On the larger sizes they use male shoe lasts, which are the basic footprint for building the shoes.

Same here!  I learned the proper way to lift heavy objects, by bending my knees.  I can squat down and pick something off the floor in 75mm heels without bending over and showing off my panties.
