HOMOSEXUAL LEADER CALLS AIDS: "A GAY DISEASE"

"Foreman's controversial statement about AIDS surprised even many of the conference attendees. He told them, "Folks, with 70% of the people in this country living with HIV being gay or bi(sexual), we cannot deny that HIV is a gay disease. We have to own that and face up to that."

It doesnt surprises me really

Gay men are more at risk of getting HIV/AIDS, especially the horniness of 2 men together more frequently results in unprotected sex

I indeed think gay men should be more aware and be more responsible in what they do

Thats my opinion

anyone can contract aids.  gays, non-gays, trans, non-trans.  education about the disease is the key to prevent it.

Oh, if only it were a "gay disease".  Sadly, there are plenty of straight people who contract it as well.

While saying its a gay disease is a bit much,
I think there is a certain political correctness
of not saying most touched are gays and
thus we're not spending money in the
right amount in the gay community to
educate them.

PC is sometimes destructive.

Probably anal is a better vector for transmission than vaginal
and thus explains the higher incidence rate.
Greater promiscuity would explain another part,
Greater incidence of non-protected sex.
Greater incidence of drug use.
etc.

While there are bi's, most gays stay in the community
and since its the community with the higher incidence
rate, it kinds of perpetuates the "tradition"...

Ofcourse everyone is at risk...its just that it happens more frequently with gay men

That's a pretty impressive statistic, considering heterosexual intercourse is responsible for 70-80% of HIV transmissions, and that's not even including the number of infections that didn't come from sexual intercourse (such as blood transfusions and tainted needles).

But why should gay bashers be bothered by silly things like facts?
