First let me apologize if this is the wrong forum. Feel free to move it if it is. I also apologize if the picture is to revealing. I did not mention any doses.

I was recently switched to IM injections from my planned parenthood RN. She instructed me on how to prepare for the injection (syringe, needle, dosage, alcohol pads, bandaids) I followed the YouTube video she sent me, however I'm really not sure if my injection site was to far to the right side of my leg? I don't have much muscle as it is so it hard to tell? I do feel a little different. Again i am trying not to provide to much information so if I did I apologize...

This is where I injected (at a 90 degree angle, 1 inch 23g needle):

Does this look correct? I know everyone is different so maybe nobody knows? I just thought I would ask here.

Thanks in advance for any or no help!

I moved my injections to my but because the uptake is slower.

I used to inject in the thigh though.  I think you injected a little to far to the right.  I'm sure you're ok though.

What I did was take the base of my hand against my bone when sitting down.  My middle finger was my length.  Then I would go to the right a inch or a inch and a half.
I've taken what others have offered, so now I'm giving back.

I took a pic to show you but I have no idea how to post it here.  All I see is a img markup tag.

There is a large nerve that runs right down the middle under the middle finger.  You want to be away from that.

This is great info! Thanks so much! I had a feeling i was to far to the right>.< I really like the hand technique I think I'll use that from now on to be on the safe side, so middle finger and to the right. Maybe I should just learn to inject in the butt, that seems like it would be slightly less painful? I really appreciate the response and visual aid. [emoji846]

Hi, I use to do IM but now do subcutaneous (SQ). It is a slower release of E. I was told there is a lower infection rate too. My doctor absolutely wants me to do SQ.

For IM I was taught to lightly grab and extend outward the outer thigh muscle and inject at 90 degrees into the muscle.  Most importantly to withdraw the plunger before injecting to make sure you are not in a vein.

From the picture you are several inches to far right. You may want to check out a pick of the thigh muscles on the PC and learn how to gently isolate and extend outward the outer thigh muscle with your hand.

I never injected in the butt.

I was not happy injecting in the oblique area with SQ because the 1 ml I inject stings there. I inject tonight and I will do it in two sites to see how that feels. Putting the needle in is not an issue SQ because there is almost no pain at all, just a tiny prick (LOL).

Yes, slightly to the right.  I think there are injection muscles images if you google that will show the nerves to miss.

I'm afraid I'll miss my oblique.

I'll look into SQ.
