I'm a newbie, altho I have about 25 posts.

I do have a question.   It looks like on my profile that I received some reputation points today.  Is there a way that I can find out which post earned me those points.

Also, I seem to have some negative points.  I'd like to view that post also.  I'd like to learn how to
do a good post.

If you click on the word 'Reputation', either on your profile, or under your name on any of your posts, it will tell you what post(s) the reputation was for, and who gave it.  You don't have any negative reputation points, as indicated by the "-0" beside the word Reputation.  Your positive reputation point ("+1" beside the word Reputation) was given by me when I welcomed you to the forum.

what are reputation stats, then?   I see what looks like a different picture when I go to them.   There are 4 positive received and a couple negative.

Confusing

I found the numbers I quoted by going to my profile/summary/reputation received.   Here I found reputation statistics.  There were two lines, most negative (2) and reputation today (6).   These are what are confusing me.

YOU have only received ONE positive reputation point on October 03, 2018 from when @KathyLauren welcomed you to Susan's Place and you have ZERO negative reputation points.
Your reputation points are shown at the beginning of the page "Reputation Change Description"

The numbers you are looking at in the "Reputation Statistics" are not indicative of your reputation... 
the numbers shown there have to do the the total site statistics showing which member has the most Reputation Points  (member VM has 1962 positive) and (member Kendra has 2 negative) reputation points since the site began keeping records.

The "Reputation Today" line shows that 7 Reputation points have been given out site-wide today.
