Last summer I decided to go to a mastectomy shop (in London) and get properly measured and fitted for a pocket bra and breast forms.  My old bra and forms always wore a little awkwardly and creased up a little with a close-fitting blouse or dress.  I went to the appointment as Debra and the fitter was so helpful in explaining why I was wearing the wrong sized bra and forms.  With properly fitted forms and bra, I have so much more confidence in my appearance when out and about as Debra, and I feel (and, I hope, look) much more feminine.
Has anyone else been professionally measured and/or fitted?  I highly recommended it if you have the nerve to do it (it took me three years of dithering before I finally took the plunge!).

I do not own a pocket bra, it has been mostly trial and error, mostly error. I looking for forms that will help fill a regular 40B bra. I measure 40", 2" inches below nimples and 44 across the nimples, from  gynecomastia and upper body strenght. or 102cm /112cm

     Comfort is the overriding priority!  There are so many beautiful bra styles out there but finding the best fit is key.

How much variance have you found from bra brand to bra brand? Is one brands B cup the same as another brands B Cup? Given the differences in breast shapes and sizes I imagine that one generally has to wear the bra with the forms for fit and function?

I have for regular bras.  I agree, it makes a difference.

There does seem to be significant variation from brand to brand, which is why I had the bra and forms measured and coordinated (I got two extra bras of the same size at the same time - black and red).  My wife has varied between a DD and an F size depending on brand (Chantelle, Bali, etc.) and has long complained about size variations from brand to brand!

I have currently a 40 A, but seem to outgrow it slowly (yeah), and was looking into different 40 B's.  It is unbelievable what size differences are out there.  One type fits me OK with the help of a chicken cutlet, while the next bran has such a gigantic cup that both of my girls and the weekly groceries fit into a single cup!
One has to try them, to see what fits!

Oh yes, different manufactures and/or bra styles can fit entirely different; best to try a bra on before buying it.

Being completely new to bras and breast forms, my new bra and new forms appear to fit well. The XL concave form fully fills a B cup and with a upper shape wear stay in place and are quite comfortable all things considered.  I have a long torso so the bra shoulder straps are at the end of their adjustments,  a little tight and tug from the weight of the forms  but not bad. I suppose that with time the shoulder straps will stretch. Knowing that no two bodies are the same I am for the present not overly concrning myself with the precise fitting of the breast to the chest with the bra. I just put the bra on and slip in the forms. The concave form fit to my gynecomastia is surprizingly a good match and also tends to hold the forms in place which is good because I do not find the thought of using adhessive appealing. Then again I am not dressing in or for the public and going out dancing.
