Hi I'm a pre hrt mtf and I was wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to invest in a silicone bodysuit or to just buy the female silicone hip pads . My goal is to look more feminine while I'm out in public titled up.

Hi, Transcowgirl1294!

Welcome to Susan's Place.

I am not sure what a silicone bodysuit even is, so I'm afraid I can't help you with your question.  When I was presenting part-time before HRT, I just wore a bra with a couple of rolled-up socks for padding.  That seemed to do the job.

Please feel free to stop by the Introductions forum to tell the members about yourself.  Here is some information that we like to share with new members:

Welcome Cowgirl. I would think a silicone bodysuit would be really hot to wear.

I wear bra's, and panties while i'm out with some silicone breast forms. They are very comfortable and not hot.

Hi Cowgirl,

I agree with Wendi, a silicone body suit would be very warm, and probably extremely expensive.  There are cooler and less expensive ways to feminize your form.  Silicone breast forms and hip/butt pads are probably a better alternative, and if you really wanted to enhance your figure, you could add a waist cinching corset.

My opinion below is based on information and experience from my crossdressing days, which are three years or more in the past.

That said, I've been around enough to have seen a few silicone body suits.  About the only real advantage I see is the ability to achieve what is, from fifty feet away, a really feminine shape, and go back to being completely male afterward.

However, silicone does not breathe, and if you are anywhere warm, this can become a real problem in terms of trapping sweat and body heat.

IMHO, you are better off with a good set of forms, or a breastplate if you really want to go that far, a good pair of hip pads or padded undies, and a good spandex cincher for your waist -- which will breathe and wick away moisture if you get one of the better ones.  You can also purchase the best breast forms, hip pads and waist cincher for less than half of what you would pay for a good silicone body suit.

I don't have one, but I can safely say that a silicon bodysuit is a great way to spend a rediculous amount of money on something you'll have fun taking pics of yourself in for a couple of hours and then leave in the closet. You can't wear something like that on a daily basis, even if it were sturdy enough to hold up, which it probably wouldn't be.

It seems to me you may be experiencing a common mindset that TG people go through. That is that your body must be greatly altered in order to look and feel sufficiently feminine. In my observation and experience this is not usually true. Start with the normal stuff: Hairstyle, makeup, clothes. I've seen many quite feminine looking males who were not wearing any sort of padding whatsoever. Learn a few things about fashion. It's all about emphasizing your best things and de-emphasizing your least. Wait to resort to silicon after comfortable fabric doesn't do the job.

For daily use I think it would be terribly uncomfortable and likely unhygienic. The amount of sweating that you would do would make it pretty icky in a short amount of time.

As others have suggested, feminizing yourself through traditional means like clothing, hairstyle, and cosmetics would be far more livable on a daily basis.

Have you seen a therapist? That would be a good place to get some guidance. Transitioning is a process and there are many paths.

We are all different, for me breast forms/plates body suites, hip forms just do nothing for me. Then again I am transgender non HRT, non SRS.
