I had an interesting experience in a mental hospital recently. Short story had a mental break went in two separate hospital in two weeks.

So being trans in a mental hospital. First thing first everyone is going to know your birth name. Second thing you will be put in a blocked bed. Third thing if you pass your nurse will not believe you when you claim to be yourself.
Fourth thing there razors in there suck. have hrt meds on hand.

So ya I was in this hospital and the nurse kept calling me by my first name. I asked them to stop several times but they said legally they had to when it came to meds and other things. Don't let anyone know your trans some of those paients will piss you off on purpose. Why I got moved to another hospital.

Also I got a blocked bed. Fantasy term for a room to myself. No roommate!!! Why this was great I was still put on the male side of the hallway. But that didn't bother me as no one else really noticed.

Once I was moved to the new hospital the intake nurse thought I was confused when I said who I was. Because I didn't look male as the paper stated and sounded like a girl. So they had to go through my stuff find my i.d. to confirm my identity. Was kinda confirming lol.

Don't shave, there razors are full and will Nick you every time you use them. An a nurse has to watch you so no shaving down there lol. Aslo I recommend you take a stuffie if you ever have to go.

Have meds on hand. Getting her meds prescribed by there docs is almost impossible. So I recommend having them on hand if you go in.

WOW... yes indeed as your thread subject title declares:  "Interesting experience"

I can see where there would be problematic issues for transgenders...  from gender and name identification to personal hygiene and shaving.... and just about everything else. 

I am thinking, perhaps incorrectly, that having your HRT prescriptions with you would let the staff there know that you are a genuine transgender in progress and not some figment of your imagination...
....and that they would be more apt to treat you with a little more sincerity and understanding.
