I think I have a weird dress size

I had good results on ebay by only buying from sellers who measured their clothes and listed key dimensions.  Only one seller messed up and refunded my money on a pair of jeans.

Kohls lets you stack discounts.  I got a 30% off coupon and used it to buy tops already on deep discount. ;D
Pay attention to house brands, sizing is often consistent with a particular brand.  Sometimes you can use this to buy something on ebay.

Finally, you can use your thrift store purchases as a guide for the brands to look for.  I found Carole Hochman via thrift store purchase of a PJ top.  In fact, I'm wearing one of her XS robes right now!

I buy online. But only from shops that have high street stores. Most of my clothes come from M&S, Debenhams and White Stuff (I am in the UK). If they do not fit I take them back to the shops. I also buy direct from the shops but not yet tried them on in the shop

You're so full great advice Marion. Thank you. It hadn't occurred to me to look at stacking discounts. What a great idea!

Oh, you're right. You know, I'm really new at this, and in my past life, it just never occurred to me to look at brands. Not usually. Old Navy and Levis usually fit me a little better than most, but that's about the extent of it. So far, I'm really enjoying my Avenue shirts. I think I own like three of them at this point. They're comfortable. I should probably look at some of the others and start paying more attention to this stuff.

Question: Who's good for frumpy sweaters? I'm wearing a lot of them lately.

Kohl's had a selection of frumpy sweaters in the Junior clearance racks today.

With stacked discounts Kohl's is cheaper than the thrift store!  A black petite XS cardigan, originally $36.00 came out to $5.03.  A horizontally striped Juniors S sweater originally $40 came out to $5.60.

Kohl's has several areas of clearance racks for women scattered through the store.  I think the ones I shop at are the juniors and petites.  I think there is also a plus size area that I never look through.

Size 16 for tops due to arm length usually and 14 lower... just the way it seems to work.
