What made me happy today?  I made an appointment to have my permanent makeup eye-shadow enhanced in a couple of weeks.  She'll also darken my permanent eye liner ... Looking forward to an enhancement ...
It took a lot of doing, but I take a lot of pride in what I am.

There's something about the idea of a tattoo gun that close to my eyeball that just gives me the willies.  Not having to do eyeliner every day would be nice but eeeeek.
As our ashes turn to dust, we shine like stars...

I love my permanent eye liner! I can run out the door without makeup and still have pretty eyes

I am contemplating the eyeliner a lot.  I can't do it alone, as soon as I come close to my eyes with some of that pencil stuff, they shut down as close as the vaults of Ford Knox!

I also want to do something with my brows.  I need to wear reading glasses when i am that close to the mirror, and glasses and eyebrows don't cooperate very well with each other!

I agree about eyeliner; I couldn't bear to have a tattoo gun that close to my eyes.

But I do want to have my brows microbladed. After tax time, I hope, or maybe this fall.

There is no doubt that having permanent makeup done is ... Well I'll even say painful.  The eyebrows are not so bad, the eyeliner is much more difficult, and the eye shadow is painful.  The lip liner is another level of pain, and the lip color was the worst on the pain scale.  I would do them all again, but probably not the lip color.  Lipstick is easy enough, just a pain to always have it rub-off on every cup of coffee.  If you go to a high-end salon or medi-spa to have it done, don't worry about the "needle so close to your eye" ... The girl that did mine was a real pro, and that's what you want.  Don't cheap out on seeking out a certified professional there for obvious reasons.  They do smear on numbing cream in the areas to be worked, and it is "semi-effective".  For the lip color the MD at the place actually took pity on me and gave me some xylocaine injections in my lips.  That sucked too!  But I guess it helped ... But never again!  When working on eye-liner and eye shadow ... And maybe the brows also to some degree ... The numbing cream might be applied more than once.  I'll post an update to all of this as I have my enhanced eye-shadow permanent makeup appointment in less than a week now.  Stay tuned!

I love my permanent eyeliner too. It's one less thing I have to do before leaving the house. It was barely tolerable getting it done though well worth it. I'm not steady enough to do eyeliner without taking all morning to get it right. Yuck, squirm, oh that just feels weird. My eyelids burned for two days.

I'm getting my eyebrows shaped and then getting my eyebrows and eyelashes stained next. I went to PermaTech. They are pro's and very LGBTQ friendly.

Dear Dietlind! I can't see well either. I use a two sided mirror. One side has a high enough magnification so I don't have to wear my reading glasses.

I have one of those, too!  But my eyes hut up like a security vault, as soon as I come only near to them with an eyeliner.
I have no problems when somebody else is doing it.

Sometimes I feel as if not only my body is weird because of the intersex thing, my brain seems to have gotten it's share, too!

"Barely tolerable getting it done" is a good description.  Nevertheless, in 5 days I'm having mine "touched-up" (meaning she'll probably go over it all again ...ugh.  Then when she's done with that, the main reason I have the appointment:  Full-fledged permanent eye shadow makeup.  Something tells me it will be painful too.  I'll let you know.  But as you say, in the end it will be worth it.

(I'd post a photo of it when it's done & healed, but I don't know how to put pictures in my replies :-( ... I guess I'm just a dumb dirty-blonde!)

Now i know why I decided to not be blonde but brunet!  I can tell you how to put pictures up here!
You have to upload your pictures to a sharing site (I like  this one https://imgur.com), and put their forum share link into your contribution.  And wonder over wonder, once you click Post, the picture will magically appear!

Concerning the pain on the eyelids.  Is the pain similar or worse to the one felt with electrolysis on the lips, or with laser hair removal there?

I seem to have a quite a high pain threshold in my face, because I did both without any numbing and found it not to be really bad.

OK ... Well no wonder I couldn't figure it out ... That's not "totally obvious to the most casual observer" as math professors always say!  Thanks ... I'll check into that!

I've had my permanent eyeliner done too, a cat-liner shape, discreet yet stylish!

I'm on the way to have my lips contoured as well in a few weeks, might not need the full package since I've got good lips already.

But I'm not looking forward to meet the gun again!   >:( :P

I don't need lips, I do them pretty well and fast,  But eyeliner and brows need all the help they can get.

Like Alyssa ... I'm not looking forward to "meeting the gun" again, but having my full-fledged eye-shadow permanently done will be nice.  After it heals a bit, I'll post a photo here now that I know how to do it thanks to my friends in the posts below!
