Hello everyone hope your journey has brought you success. I'd like to talk about how lucky I've been lately with mine. I live in a small mid-american town where attitudes are sometimes hostile toward anything out of the ordinary. Being TG here has definite challenges and I've learned to over come them.

I've been going about my daily routines as usual, work, food shopping, taking care of my house. Life as usual. SO I decided to see just how deep local traditional attitudes were regarding TG women and listed an ad on a hetrosexual dating website. My profile explained I'm a pre-op TG woman early in her transition and would like to meet a local man who is accepting and willing to get to know someone for who they are, not what they have or look like.

As you might have guessed, there were plenty of men who responded who had no clue what Transgender even meant. Then "John" e-mailed me. He's this complete anomaly in middle America. Accepting, good looking, single, unassuming, likes people for their character and I can't believe people like him even exist.

Most beautiful thing he wrote me: (when asked if he would consider dating me)

"As for dating, I don't know. I've never put much thought into it. I wouldn't have any issue with it, I just don't know if the attraction would be there. Same as with anyone else. Not because of you being TG."

Needless to say things are going great for me and him. We have been getting to know one another through e-mails and such. I email him two or three times a day and we connect on a level uncommon to traditional ranch-hand farming lifestyle men found around here. In case you were wondering if there were few single women here, the answer is no, there are plenty. John just happens to be one of those men who are fed up with BULL -**** and put his efforts in finding someone he's compatible with. I'm excited to see where this goes.

Sounds promising. I found my girl friend on a dating site. We chatted for a few days but I decided to cut through all that and meet. So a week later we had our first date. I liked what I saw. By the third date we had found so many commonalities that it was a done deal. Just be careful because some people are not what they say they are.

Exactly why I'm taking this super slow. We have not met in person nor spoken on the phone. My rationale is: if he's genuine he will continue being genuine and, over time, he will gain my trust slowly. I do like how modern technology can keep us safe until we are comfortable enough to share ourselves with another person. I also realize catfish exist.
