Is it possible or impossible to be MTF and with Aspergers? I have Aspergers, a "male" condition, but I want a female body.

I don't think Aspergers is an only "Male" issue. It may be mostly males that have it but I know a girl with it. It is however, very rare for a girl to have it, but not impossible. I don't have any stats or anything, but I am sure girls can have it.

edit: A quick net search and I found this from BBC http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-ouch-28746359
Describes female Aspergers behaviors.

I would say it is possible to be MTF with Aspergers.
I've been afraid of changing, cuz I built my life around you.

There are plenty of women with the condition. I know another trans woman with it, and I've often suspected myself of having Asperger's as well.

Yes, certainly possible. A person's place on the gender spectrum is just one facet of their being, independent of other spectra like sexuality and neurodiversity.

Your gender identity is just one part of your total identity and personality. Although many stereotypes would like you to think otherwise every identity element is individual and unique, and gender identity is no different

I do have Aspergers and it's not a problem at all. There are more males than females with it, but not that much more. If anything HRT has helped it more than anything else. BTW, my cis-wife has it as well.

I remember reading somewhere that MAAB individuals who have Aspergers have a higher percentage of being in the trans spectrum that those without Aspergers. And there is another article about it hear:

Is There a Link Between Autism and Gender Dysphoria?

I have autism and I'm ftm. I know plenty of cis women and girls with it. I have also read that males are only slightly more likely to have it, and that females are just less likely to be diagnosed.

You can definitely have aspergers and be trans and have aspergers and be a girl

OP I have read the same. There seems to be a higher than average pecentage of Aspies within transgender people.
So... it seems you are in good company  :)

Both female and male can have Asperger's Syndrome or autism. It doesn't matter if you're trans or cis.
But here is my theory. Since transsexualism/trans is a bit rare, it's not so common for transgenders to be born both trans and autistic or Asperger's. It's off course possible, but not the most common cases. My theory is that people often being fail diagnosed by the professional. (doctors etc.) According to my though it's very normal to be fail diagnosed because some people doesn't discovering they are trans before later. When the doctors research the patient before she or he know the trans thing, the doctor can discovering difference traits that the A4-society wouldn't expect by a "regular person". Then it's easier for a doctor to give the wrong diagnose.

The major reasons they get a wrong diagnose:

* Not discovered being transgender yet
* Doctors discovering difference personality traits that isn't normal according to them
* Transgenders and the diagnose may share some of the same traits (Anyway, the society may believe it)
* The society's view at things

By the way, I got the diagnose Asperger's syndrome too. But I doesn't believe at the doctors. I think they gave me the wrong diagnose and all the problems were caused by something else. A stupid society maybe... that's before I discovered I'm FTM.

This is an interesting topic. One of the prevailing theorys of autism is that it is caused by an exposed to a high level of testosterone and there is evidence the FTM have more "autistic traits" that MTFs.

I myself don't have autism and actually have "female type" conditions like depression, emetophobia and hypochondria. These occur many times more in women than men.

It depends how we see it. FTM has male brain and identify themselves as guys. So many of them have more manly traits. But since they have a female similar anatomy, the society often see them as women, especially before they are coming out. When the society discovering their masculine traits, it's easy for them to label them as autistic or with autistic traits. MTF has female brains, therefor they wouldn't get so affected. Autism has often masculine traits according to the society and the doctors. In my theory it's about the society. Transgender and autism isn't linked together and hasn't anything with each other to do. But some few of them has both things. In many cases they have been fail diagnosed.

My daughter has it. She was in Gifted & Talented classes in high school and all of her female friends at that level also had it. Interestingly, most of them were also ADD/ADHD.

Is absolutely happening..  me included..
girls usually go under the radar in Asperger's diagnostics..
But for sure is present with girls (and actually the same as boys)

About the correlation between ASD and transgender-
They found out that out of 30 guys 9 was transgenders, and girls was the same figure..
So here we see no difference between guys and girls.

I have my theory why is higher in Asperger ppl vs regular ppl:
I find out my self both being Asperger and transgender (MTF), not by any doctor and such..
So I can speculate that because of being Asperger, and we like to understand how anything is 'working',
We just know/search more.. and suddenly we find out about our self...
(Asperger's is not the only ASD they tested, but I bet the majority was Asperger's, not simple ASD)

Pretty sure I have a mild form of it as well as possibly a bit of ADHD. Its nothing to do with your gender...

There is evidence I have it and it really makes a lot of sense in that I held an important job for 40 years but I was seldom put in a position where I had close contact with others. I've spent hours counting the number of ceiling panels, the pinholes in those panels. I can remember everything once it hits my long term memory. Til then I don't know diddly. I withdrew from everyone,  I am socially inept, I am hard to understand. I have a limited number of subjects I feel confident in presenting. That's how I became a trainer. You create the system you can usually explain it. Smiling and showing pleasure is something that is very difficult. I ate a sausage and egg sandwich every morning for 20 years.  As to my MTF, that too has been with me all my life as there is strong evidence of DES poisoning in utero.
