Kolkata: Taking a cue from Ahmedabad, which houses the first old-age home for homosexual men, a non-governmental organisation which operates in West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, has set up a home for transsexual males at Kolkata.

The home, run by People Like Us (Plus), provides temporary shelters for transsexual males coming to the city from different parts of Bengal, Bihar and UP, as well as medication and counselling facilities.
