Only recently finally admitted to myself that I"m MtF and not just a pervert, which was a long time in the coming, I'm 47 and been in the closet the whole time, so even telling people on social media has been nerve-wracking.  But next month I have both appointments with my doctor and psychiatrist, and *really* need to work up the courage to "out" to one or the other -- I have some psychological issues that tend to join up with dysphoria and wreak havoc with me, and I suspect that supplementing my other meds with HRT may be a way to finally get my life moving forward again (it's been a complete and utter disaster for a *very* long time).

It doesn't help that I'm in a generic blue-collar suburb that's not especially "deviant-friendly,"  which will add an extra level of hair-raising to going out en femme if I ever decide I "pass" (which is tricky all on it's own, I've *really* let myself go besides just being very large.)

Anyhow, I'm not really here to throw myself a pity-party, but will be looking for advice on makeup, hair removal, and where to get women's shoes in sizes that typical shoe stores won't carry.

Hello Clara_D,  it's a pleasure to meet you.  Congrats on the recent big decision for your life.  You're never too old to transition.  I was much older than you when I started but am still glad I got the ball rolling when I did.  Life choices like this are so easy to put off.  It's great you are reaching out and looking make a better life for yourself by being honest with yourself.  I was in denial for years and only when I truly embraced my true nature did I begin to really live.

I look forward to hearing more about you and your journey.  Thank you for sharing.

Warmest Regards,
Susan R🌷

Hi Clara!

   Welcome!   :)

Chrissy
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.
