Hi All, 04 April 2019
I need to read this whole thread, but a couple of things kept popping up in what I have read so far, and would appreciate your comments.
Anyone that has read my main thread will know I suffered a DVT last November 23rd and have been off my Her-mones / She-mones (Estradiol patches) since.
Early in my transition, 13 April 18, I had an Orchie, so my T & E are at Eunuch levels; not where I want to be.
I have an appointment 17 April 2019 for another D-Dimer blood test. It will indicate whether or not I still have clots. The test looks for debris from disintegrating clots. I have been on Xarelto anticoagulant 4 months with two months to go on the normal 6 month regime. If the debris count is higher than 0.49 it'll mean clots still remain. I've had three ultrasounds of my legs, the first found 2, the second found 1 and the third found none. This is a positive, but not positive enough to resume She-mones; the D-Dimer will be definitive along with another ultrasound.
When I first saw the hematologist several months ago, we had a conversation about Progesterone. He recommended Progesterone as the She-mone I should use rather than Estradiol. Since I don't yet know how my DVT treatment will resolve out, I'd like to know more about Progesterone and how it affects those of us transitioning. I'll be 79 in 4 months and would like to continue my transition safely. I have an appointment (24 April) with the Hematologist, which is one week after the D-Dimer test, to review where I am at that time.
I will still have to see my Endocrinologist before doing anything transition wise; she and the Hematologist will be the ones that will help me decide.
Does anyone know if Progesterone alone will feminize or will I be stuck in a rut to nowhere? I also noticed in the study that Spiro was mentioned several times. I was never on it and never wanted to be on it, hence I had the orchie early on in my transition. What roll, if any, besides blocking the T receptors does Spiro play in the use of Progesterone?
I am going to finish reading this thread before I see my Hematologist and Endocrinologist. Thanks for any info and or suggestions you can provide.
Best Always, Love
Christine
