I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

If it's a "normal" type, I just put my arms through the straps, close the hooks and adjust as needed. A sports type I pull on like a t-shirt and adjust as needed.

Or do you mean the bending down at the waist thing when adjusting things? I myself have found no real advantage in doing it, probably because I'm too slight for it to really seem to matter.

Join the clasps in front, then swing it around so the cups are in front. Easy peasy.

Because of shoulder problems, I have to use the hook and spin method.

I have problems in both shoulders, and can't reach that far behind my back.  I close the bra in the front, and do the sinning thing.  But I prefer front closure bras or sports bras anyway!

I slip it on like a t-shirt. It's so much easier that way. I clasp it, roll it up, and slip it over my arms and head and get it secured in place as I get dressed. My wifey said she did the same too as a teenager til she figured out how to do it normally. I've already figured out how to take it off while I have a shirt on.

You aren't any less of a woman if you  can't do it the normal way.

Same for me! Using hands and arms to hook up at the back takes time and can be a tad painful.

I learned to hook a bra behind my back when I was 12.  *ahem*   ;D  I am still reasonably flexible, so that's how I still do it.  Arms through straps; reach back and hook it; done.

Sports bras, I put on like a t-shirt.

I wear sports bras a lot and have no clasps.

I step into the band and pull it up over my torso and bring the straps over my shoulder. It far easier than trying to pull it over my head....

Have you ever seen those old enough to know better cyclists in lycra? Thats me every morning followed by putting on a bra for the day. I change my clothes in the mens room. Normally a convertible t- shirt bra is fastened racerback style with hooks engaged behind my back.

Comments from workmates have been along lines of your tits look big today !

Hook at front, spin, put arms through straps.
I was never dexterous enough for any other method.

I also take it off the same way, arms through my shirt sleeves, slip off bra straps, undo hook, return arms to shirt sleeves and whip bra out from under clothes. Voila!
Lol.
I started doing this so I could get changed in public without removing my shirt but now I do it at night because it means I don't have to remove my shirt and put it back on to sleep lol. I'm sure it's actually no less effort but it feels like it's more efficient than removing the whole tee first.

I'm looking into sports bras for mild binding (I have bad ribs so I have to be careful) but man, they don't have hooks often and I haven't a clue how i'm gonna get those over my fat head or off again. I can picture a great deal of getting stuck and needing assistance.

I mean it'll be comical sure, should give my partner and I some good laughs but long term it's gonna annoy the heck outta me.

+1 to this! Way easier than trying to attach it at the back.

I am still flexible enough to clasp a bra behind my back, but don't have the patience. It can take over 15 minutes, because I don't have eyes back there. Hook and spin works for me.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Another hook and spin girl here!  Or even better, front closure bras or the pull over sports bras!

Reach around the back & connect each one at a time.

I have a few racer back bralets and sports bras that I pull over my head and adjust.

Now padded vs. unpadded would be, I think, an interesting topic.

I use slightly padded because it protects my ever hurting nipples better!
