People say they love you.
But what they really mean is how loving you make them feel about themselves
or they love what they can take from you. I just don't see the point.
I don't need another person lying to me.
I'll be there for you and they aren't.
I'll call you tomorrow and don't.
I'll do this or that and nothing.
Empty promises and cares.
begs the question why?
Why do I listen?
Why do I care?
Why do I try?
Worse yet, Why do I hope?
Hope's are crushed
Dreams are shattered
With each breath life is shortend
Each step becomes harder
I don't see the point
Loneliness creeps like the lioness stalking
you think your are safe
without a sound
In a flash
Its upon you
I don't see the point
To be like others
To have someone
To feel the love
but the pain arrives again
I don't see the point
But that is the point
Not to see the point
you don't see it coming
A bolt of lightning hits
Your heart stops
It dies from within
They say they love you
but what's the point?

MelissaAnn,

you  wrote ,,but what's the point?".

The point is to learn who is truthful to you and what is truth.
To recognize yourself and others better through this truth and what ist truly important in your life and the life of others.

Very emotional prose.  Summons some vivid imagery and memories,  we all feel like that at times and it hurts.  You have a gift, taking something that painful and presenting it so vividly.

Best wishes,

Bea

MelissaAnn...

The words you put forward certainly speak to a nihilistic perspective of both personal relationships and, beyond that, life itself... I believe that our lessons in life, through which we eventually find personal growth... are wherever we find them, and they are available to us, through all we experience, if we remain open to the possibility that they are there... There are lessons in relationships to others and there are lessons in loneliness

Frederick Nietzsche saw great value in nihilism as something to focus on, struggle with and eventually rise above through whatever meaning you find for yourself in this thing called life...

I believe your words present a wonderful foundation upon which a search for personal meaning in life can be built... I hope you can view them in the same light dear sister!

Sometimes the point to it all can allude us for quite some time due to being buried deeply or even just camouflaged by being in plain sight... The fact that you pose the questions... lead me to conclude that you seek answers...

All good things to you in your search...

Onward we go brave sister...

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment" ... Ralph Waldo Emerson 🌸

"The individual has always had to struggle from being overwhelmed by the tribe... But, no price is too high for the privilege of owning yourself" ... Rudyard Kipling 🌸

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face.... amg🌸

Thank you, MelissaAnn! Well written and true.

What if there were a point? I think that would be hell.

We rely on illusion to be able to cope at all and at the same time illusion leads to disaster. Really, there is no permanence, there is no "I" that speaks English and controls our thoughts and feelings. We entail reality.

What I hope for, is to find a community where words like yours are shared openly and respected and listened to.
