Have you bought or acquired a handbag / purse, or a tote recently?

If so, what style, color, and material?

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I received one for Christmas but I have avoided the temptations to look at any others.

I picked one up about 6 months ago or so.  Smaller medium sized satchel style with a shoulder strap.  Never had the opportunity to use it till last week since I present primarily male.  Last week I was sent out of town for work.  Since I was checking my bags, I needed something a little more than my pockets to carry my travel paper plus a paperback and tablet.

I liked carrying a purse.  It felt good.  Affirming.  It came in pretty handy too.

Last week I couldn't resist the temptations of their sale anymore and got myself a Kate Spade medium sized black shoulder bag at a really good price. I used it last Saturday when I attended my monthly social / support group meeting.

I'm thinking of a friend who carries a change of clothes and a sewing kit.
One of my kids carries a huge collection of cosmetics.
I carry my wallet, keys, cell phone, a few pills, tissues (for my nose and toilet paper emergencies), N95 masks, sunglasses, pens, salve, hair ties, sometimes a snack.
My sweetheart carries a thick math textbook, notebooks, pens, large corded headphones, wallet, keys, and many odds and ends.

My sweetheart bought my latest purse for me 4 years ago. It's rugged heavy leather, well-crafted by an artisan.

My daughters bought me my previous one, nearly 10 years ago. It was from a Coach factory outlet clearance sale, black leather (when my main clothing color was black), with a flap and lots of pockets, big enough to hold my Planner.

Fall 2018 The woman hiding behind my husband's facade is coming out full time! :icon_female:
She began MTF HRT but had adverse reactions, so gave up on transitioning medically.
Summer 2022 I went through gender confirmation surgery as a result of cancer.
2024 my wife submitted letters approving of medically transitioning, she's legally changing her name and gender on all of her and our documents and accounts.

Have you ever bought or got an unusual or extraordinary handbag?  Perhaps it is the style or material or colors etc., that made it unusual or extraordinary.

I just purchased a purse yesterday! I have always carried a bag. But, it is a big Filson bag that screams alfa male! But, it is big and heavy. I started developing shoulder problems that the strap from that bag was aggravating. I  looked for smaller bags, but just couldn't find one that I liked. My wife told me that I should try a smaller, lighter, purse. I have to admit, it is an adjustment going from that bag to a purse! But I like it! I feel like I'm expressing my truth. Like I'm taking all of me everywhere.

Big bags and totes are way different than a purse.
However I have found that you can load up an average size purse with all kinds of things and could use one loaded like that for weight lifting.

So I try to be practical and just have the essentials in a purse.

Last week I purchase a small cross-body bag that is just big enough for my phone,
keys, wallet, and a few essentials like lip gloss, hair brush, nail file, tissues,
and a few other small essential items.

I like the freedom of not packing around a lot stuff I don't usually need.
Living in a small town, my home only 2 miles away from my office and the
town center, makes this a smart choice for my needs.

That sounds like one style that I have.  It works out well.

Sometimes handbags come with more than one set of straps, and that gives you flexibility on how to carry it, that is, crossbody, on shoulder, or in hand.
