So, does anyone have any tips for when I got o montreal. Or perhaps for GRS/SRS in general?

I've been talking to a few friends who've gone to montreal. The package they send isn't perfect english, but I understand it. Although, I had one friend translate what they meant by a few things (Ie, the spray bottle with a nozzle, equals a douche, not a plant mister). They say to bring 10 white cotton panties along, although I've been told that you don't "need" too, but some people have assumed that perhaps it's because dye might irritate you, or you're going to ruin them anyway, so why bring good stuff, and that cotton breaths. So, who knows the real reason... walmart/zellers will do for that...

Another interesting thing on the list is to bring a swimsuit if it's summer -- not a need, but I'm assuming it might be just incase you want to walk around with it when it's hot.

The one thing that seems to be hard to find is the stuff you're supposed to stick your dilators in, the hibiclens. Drugs stores here don't seem to carry it for some reason. At first, I thought I was supposed to use it on myself, until someone pointed out that it's for the dilators. I supposed antibacterial soap will do (and oddly enough, it talks about using dish soap in your bath... I'm guessing antibacterial bath soap, since dish soap would be harsher on your skin and dry it out).

I also found out that they give you a donut cushion, and you don't need to bring one.

So, yeah, if anyone has any tips, that'd be good.

Hi Natalie:

One thing is don't over pack as the recovery is pretty slow (at first) and you won't need as much clothes as you think you will.  Bring clothes that are loose and comfortable.  You will probably be chilly due to the after affects of the surgery, which is normal after any surgery so bring some socks and a few warm things to keep you warm.  You probably won't need a bathing suit as the residence doesn't have a pool, if it is the same one that as Steph was in.  The underwear is a good suggestion though, don't bring the good stuff, and yes the cotton breathes.  You will need the antibacterial dish soap for the dilators once you get home as they provide the disinfectant for them while you are there.  But the big thing is to not bring a lot of clothes as you just won't feel like dressing up for a bit.

Hope that helps.
