For a potential grant, please visit jimcollinsfoundation.org

The 2025 grant cycle will open on June 1, 2024 and will close on August 15, 2024.

I am not involved with this foundation.  I thought that posting about this may help some of you.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Thank you. Not that I am anywhere ready, I do appreciate you passing this kind of information along to those who need the help and are in a place where they need more financial help in order to continue their transition.

And for people like myself where I am not ready but it's good to know of for the future when I might be ready

Other organizations offer grants too. Each with its own windows to apply. Some have different rules, but most agree that the funds must be used within the US within one year.

Some require you to have your surgeon letters already, and a surgeon ready to go, and provide their contact information. Some allow funds to be used for other things besides genital surgery, such as FFS, tracheal shave, electrolysis, and so forth.

With each one having a different window, you can apply for one in June and another in September or November at a different organization.

I had no idea that there were grants grants for gender affirming surgeries. Since my employer's insurance won't cover it, I might just do some investigating of this pathway toward surgery.
