Not sure if this would be the right place for this topic.

My question is about eye lashes. I had a random thought whether or not some one could expect their eyelashes to start growing more once they have been on HRT.

Has anyone noticed if their eyelashes started growing more after they started HRT. Or do you use products that stimulate eyelash growth, or do you just get fake ones put on either by yourself or a professional.

As someone who is not on any form of hrt or even herbal supplements to increase estrogen I find my upper eye lashes are very thin and short. I was just wondering if they will grow some after I've been on HRT for a bit, or if I'll have to Invest in products that help eyelash health and growth or if I'd have to use fake ones.

Thank you in advance for all your input, personal stories and experiences and advice.

I've found that my lashes haven't grown that much.  Of course it could depend on when you start HRT.  I started in my late-30's so there may be some issues from not being on HRT earlier.

Of course if you want the fan effect, I believe most use fake lashes to get that.

@NancyDrew1930 thanks you. No I was just curious that if they would grow after being on HRT is all. I'm sure I'd eventually have them done on a regular basis once I start living life as a woman.

I did find some beauty products that claim to help grow upper eyelashes to an extent over the course of several weeks/months. And if you stop these products the hair will return to its original length as the old ones fall out and as the new ones grow. Typical hair life cycle.

Be careful of things you put close to your eye. The only FDA-approved product to grow lashes is Latisse, which requires a prescription. See your eye doctor for details. There are products that use  Castor oil which is said to do a lot of things. Basically, it moisturizes the follicles. If you keep them clean, then those might work.

I wore false lashes for years (see profile pic), but removing them was pulling out lashes. Later, I had eye surgery and I noticed my right eye had fewer lashes than my left. Adding the Super B vitamin supplements (with Biotin) helps hair grow and my lashes are getting fuller. I see my eye doctor in September, so I plan to talk to her about prescribing Latisse and see if that helps.
