I had a session with my gender therapist today. This was my 6 session with her. I asked her if she would be confident in saying I have gender dysphoria. She said absolutely. She said I have gender dysphoria. I felt such  relief hearing that.

That is the first step. That diagnosis allows for "treatment" by a medical professional, be it hormones or surgery. Continue with the therapist as they can help with so much more. You are on your way, Sister!

Thank you, @Sarah B. I'm  not 100 percent sure what direction I'm going to go. I've been considering hormones, but I'm not sure that's the right thing for me. I've been changing my expression to a more feminine expression, which is making me very happy. I'm actually growing out my hair right now. I haven't had my haircut since April.

I had almost the exact same experience in my first 6 weeks. I did start HRT at the 6 month mark though. That's why I really went there.

I last went to have my hair professionally cut in 2018.  Since then I've been trimmin the ends on my own.  Even with curls it reaches the middle of my back for a very feminine appearance.  I am lucky not have male pattern baldness, something HRT may help with

Hi Alana

Thank you for replying to my comment.  You mention:

There is nothing wrong in not knowing what direction that you want to go.  It has been mentioned before, that what you decide and only you decide, how far you go in what direction that is appropriate for you.

The variations of 'transition', abound from none whatsoever to everything under the sun.  So I will support you 100% and I assume other members of Susan's will also, in your decision and cheer you from the sidelines to boot.

It's good to hear that you are finding those feminine expressions that make you very happy.  Since your recent leg waxing adventure, you enjoyed it very much, which got me to thinking that maybe you could have facial and body removed permanently with IPL.

Remember this is a suggestion only for you.  Two things that have always made me very happy and I guess feminine in retrospect.  Removal of my facial hair and always having long hair.

I have to go as one of the other things that has always made me happy and that was swimming.

Take care and remember to do things that make you happy and you will enjoy the peace and contentment those things bring to you.  Take your time and remember to pause and smell the 'flowers'.

Can I ask why? What did that affirmation mean to you?

It made me feel validated knowing all the feelings and emotions I've been experiencing weren't just me overthinking. I don't have to go back and fourth in my head anymore telling  myself maybe I'm not transgender.

Thank you. That's all I needed to know. Honey, I wish you a long happy journey in becoming you and overcoming anything that doesn't want you to be you. You are doing this from the right starting place. Never forget that, okay? <3
