Asking this because I didn't decide with who I'm going go have bottom surgery yet. I know I want one that won't decide they must put an erectile device inside my penis, but I'm afraid they might not want to do the procedure because of that. (I live in Brazil, by the way).

It also costs a lot of money I probably won't be able to afford unless insurance covers it or I go through the waitlist to get it for free (which means I will need to wait a whole decade to get the procedure).

I am no expert in this area, but as I understand the procedure, the erectile device is not mandatory. From what I have read, it is more of an optional upgrade that you can choose to have or decline.

The surgeon is not going to do more work than is necessary to make you satisfied with the result. When you first meet, they will explain the procedure to you and allow you to ask questions. That way you understand what to expect and the surgeon knows exactly what you want.

Thanks. That calms me down a bit. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to get this surgery soon. I will very like be 35 (I'm currently 25) when I get to my first consult. Mostly because that's what the free healthcare of my country can offer and also because it costs a lot of money.

The number of surgeons that deal with this type of surgery are few and far between.  I do know of one here in Australia!

So to get information will be hard, but not impossible.   Write or obtain the information in regards to surgeons concerned and get as much information on the various options available for phalloplasty, always asking questions.  Then you can move forward in the direction you want to go.

Lori has also provided some words of wisdom and I agree with her of course.  I have very limited knowledge in this area also and as I mentioned in your introduction post I like learning from others members.

I'm sure you will be able to work out the best surgeon for you.

Thanks for the advice as well. I'm focusing on two specific doctors now (for top surgery) and one for bottom surgery. I hope they will be able to do the surgeries in ways that will help me become less dysphoric without compromising my health.

I have been doing my research as best as I can, been aware of the risks too. Hopefully that will be enough for me to get my body fixed up regarding its sexual traits.
