My favorite vegetables are carrots, my favorite fruits are bananas, and my favorite berries are... confused about why they're being mis-fruited and not just called small fruits! Just because they were assigned Berry at birth (ABAB) does not stop them being fruits in society..
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough

Please Note: Everything I write is my own opinion - People seem to get confused  over this

I like just about all vegetables.  It is hard to pick one.  About the only one I don't like is eggplant: I have yet to find a recipe that made it edible.

Fruit?  Apples.  Oranges.  Mangoes.  Damn, too hard to pick.

Berries?  Strawberries.  Black currants.  Okay, I do have a favourite: haskaps.  Never heard of them?  I hadn't either until a couple of years ago.  Then I tried some haskap jam we found at a farmer's market.  OMG, so good!  We found a grower, ordered a few boxes of them, and my wife found a recipe for jam.  Mmmmm!

So imagine this spring, our first in the new house, and I post a photo online of a mysterious bush in our back yard.  It turns out to be ... a haskap bush.  There are six of them.  Our first home-grown haskap jam is already sitting in jars on the shelf.

Whatever is fresh and in season.

If pressed for a better answer-- I love me some green beans. I wilt them on the grill for an easy summer salad. Blueberries are awesome. As are raspberries.

Oh and do not forget, it is a proven fact -- Frozen mango is the food of gods.

I drive by Mt. Rainier and buy some cherries at roadside stands sometimes.  They are always really good.

Strawberries are good when sweet. Blueberries are good.  Grapes too.  Same with bananas, oranges, apples, and pears.  I like peaches and melons.

It would be easier to list stuff I dont  like, raw onion family as it upsets my tum, sour things and artichokes, what are they about! At the moment its runner (kidney) bean season and they are the best with bacon and mash spuds. Carrots straight out the garden, peas out the pod and fresh boiled beetroot sarnies are the best.

Navy beans, black eyed peas, peaches, pears.  Oh! And cabbages.  Sauerkraut. Rotkohl. Potatoes. Napa. Leeks. Peas.  Onions if cooked.  Potatoes.

Ok, so there aren't many I don't like.

Blackberries. They always signify to me the onset of Autumn (Fall). And leading into Winter. I am not a spring/summer person. 6 months of the year is hellish for me, honestly. I think I have reverse SAD. I am most alive when it's dark at 4pm. And cold. Not hot and sunny until like 11pm. That's just... weird!

That's my favourite berry. In terms of my favourite vegetable... I think it has to be lettuce. I kind of have this thing where I shred up lettuce and, I guess you would call it white onion?, and mix it with a Greek yoghurt and mint dressing... it's to die for. I could eat that on it's own as a main meal lol.

There are so many fruits, berries, and veggies that are really good.

I do not think I have tried eggplant.  I do not care for kale.

We don't call it "Eggplant" in the UK because that's just weird. We call it "Aubergine". It's really quite nice.

Y'all have a weird fascination with eggs in the US. Despite the fact US eggs are literally banned in Europe. We can't even buy them. :P

Have you tried rhubarb?  I do not think I have tried that.

I have tried taro.

I have Rhubarb in my back garden, as it happens. It makes a lovely sour dessert. People put way too much sugar into it when trying to make it palatable. It's not supposed to be like that. It's like drinking coffee without sugar. If all you care about is the sweetness, you're doing it wrong!

I make my own rhubarb crumble with unsweetened digestive biscuits as a topping. And clotted cream on top because custard in the UK is overly sweet IMO.

Is there a poisonous part of rhubarb plant for humans?  I thought there is.

I like spinach.

Only the leaves. Which is cool because that's the only part of the plant that insects seem to want to eat, lol.

The whole stem of the plant is not poisonous. :) If you don't go near the leaves, you're good.

Interestingly, rhubarb is classified as a vegetable in the UK, but in the US it's classified as a fruit.

Rhubarb crumble is like my only claim to fame. If anyone came round my house, I'd knock your socks off with it, with my home grown rhubarb :D
