I would like to visit Marsh Chapel, Lincolnshire, England.
 
I have never been there, but my great-great-great grandfather was born there in 1802.
He was a potter by trade and worked at a pottery at Hunslet, near Leeds, Yorkshire. Later, he worked at Kilnhurst-Swinton Pottery (Rockingham Works). The Rockingham kiln was built in 1815 and still stands today. The company went out of business, so he moved the family to Louth, Lincolnshire where he is buried.

I would love to visit these places, but I don't think I want to live there. I figure my great-great-grandfather (his son) left England and immigrated to Canada for a reason. 

I grew up on an island, so I could return to one if I no longer were able to take care of my house and gardens.  But, most folks can't handle it.  Food becomes expensive on islands and you may not like to eat what the locals eat.  A small island may not have any good restaurants available to the public.  There may be luxury dining available on exclusive resorts.

Perhaps return to NW Washington.

Perhaps Crater Lake.

Perhaps Hawaii.

Perhaps Switzerland.

Perhaps Jackson Hole.

Perhaps wherever I can be me, has near it mountains, lakes, beaches, good food, nice people, a reasonable cost of living, and low crime with not many bothersome bugs or creatures.

I would at least like to visit all of the continents.  As a child with my family and as adult in the Air Force and on business, I have traveled through out the United States, except the north west quadrant, including Alaska and Hawaii.  The only state that I have not visited east of the Mississippi river is Vermont.  I have spent some time in Montreal on business, and I have visited Mexico, so that checks off North America. 

When I was very young, my Father was in the Army, and I lived at a base in Fulda, Germany.  I don't remember a whole lot about it.  Since then, I  have been back to Berlin on business, and I got to do a little site seeing.  I have been to a few other places in Europe, and I enjoyed them all.

While in the Air Force I was stationed in Korea, and I did a four month temporary assignment in the Philippines, so at least I can cross Asia off of my list.  I would have liked to visit and experienced many more Asian countries and cultures.

Again, while in the Air Force, I did a very short tour of duty in Egypt in the desert just outside of Alexandria.  This was a very exciting and eye opening and cultural experience.  As a civilian, I visited Tel Aviv, Israel a couple of times on business, and while there, I visited Jerusalem once.  This checks of Africa, but there is so much more I would want to see and experience.

So that leaves mostly the southern hemisphere that I want to visit.  I want to visit Chile, Argentina and Brazil, Australia and Antarctica.  At my age and with my financial resources and priorities, those places will probably stay on my bucket list.  I am very happy with the places I have been; the experiences I have had; the people I have met along the way; and the remembrances and stories I love to tell.

Where would I like to live?  That is a hard one for me.  I have live in a number of places.  I have liked all of them, but I have not liked any of them better than my current home.  I am not restless or looking to move, but I still love an adventure.

Thank you for allowing me to review some of my life here even though this is probably a long answer than you expected.  Going through these remembrances in my mind makes me nostalgic and emotional.

East Anglia. When I was 7 & my sister 5 we had a wonderful holiday there. Went back again at 59, 60 & 61. I love the place it has a desolate beauty when the tide is out. Also being an armchair detective there's a lot of unsolved disappearances & murders to look into. Sounds macabre but I walk through areas the disappeared were last seen

I love this! I enjoy visiting abandoned towns and homesteads. I try to imagine them at the peak of their activity. What were people doing? What did they look like? I love it.
