Quote from: LoriDee on March 26, 2024, 10:34:35 PMI got "ma'amed" three times today!

I drove up to Sturgis to the Fort Meade VA Hospital for an appointment. As I was approaching the main entrance an older gentleman said "Good afternoon, ma'am". I replied with, "It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" He said, "Yes, Ma'am! It certainly is, ma'am."

It's been a while since I've been properly ma'amed. And he ma'amed me good. Made my day!  :)

Excellent news!  Thanks for sharing.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I feel very feminine today, and that is a nice feeling.
I am a woman, so maybe it makes no sense to say that; but, I just woke up refreshed, happy that I am a woman.

I am actually planning to take the rest of the day off shortly after a quick start of the month meeting.

Enjoy your day everyone!

The result of the general election in the UK made me very happy today. It was a win for everyone not on board with all the utter... no I'll leave it there because I think everyone should have a voice. Even if they vote for right wing lunatics. A big part of me is glad we don't have proportional representation in the UK. I see it as "Hitler Protection". Especially considering the way most of Europe is leaning these days. Did Nazi Germany mean nothing to you people? I don't even... I did not vote for Brexit but when I see how mental large swathes of Europe is being these days.. to quote Terry Pratchett... we live in interesting times.

Today was a good day for most Brits, though.

For reasons I may get into on another post, we had an unexpected house guest for the week ending on Sunday July 7th.  Since I'm only partly out and to a limited circle, it restricted what I could wear at home that week.  It was especially hard over the long 4-day weekend that I took off for the Fourth of July.  So, when our guest left on that Sunday, I put on a short skirt, some flats and a nice top.

A little later that day my wife asked if I was enjoying wearing nylons again.  When I told her I wasn't, she said "Wow, nice tan, your legs look great!".  That made my day.

Paulie. :)

Just being my authentic self seems tranquil.  Will it last?  I do not know what the future will actually bring.  We shall see.

In the meantime, I will not take anything for granted.

I like being treated as a woman, especially by other women.  Guys seem to eyeball you a bit more overtly than women do; but, they are just being guys I suppose.  It is nice to get doors opened for you occasionally also.

Getting to my new work place having very open co workers that have been getting to know me more. Go back next month, math teacher at a high school. Went to my new classroom yesterday to finishing set up. My coworkers took it well when I told them I am transsexual, a pre op mtf. Saw I had an unhappy life before I transitioned and told me I am like any normal person just like them

Nikki,

That is good to hear.

It is far more pleasant to be working with accepting people than otherwise.

last workplace, the principal did treat me like crap at times and I had enough of it. Last straw was when he sexually assaulted me and he is in prison doing his time. I am doing better, been seeing a therapist which has been a great help. This principal at my new work place, he treats me right and shows it

It is surprising how much bad behavior is caused by those "thinking with their genitals" and not with a clear mind.

Disgusting!  Sorry that you had a bad experience.  Not good for anyone to endure.

I have been awarded a higher number of vacation days for each work year should I wish to be away for more days each year.

A new co worker and I met up for lunch, she is the algebra teacher and she came out to me about herself. She is in the LGBTQ community too, a lesbian married to a great wife of hers.Said I am welcomed to go to a meet up for LGBTQ people she and her wife go to every Tuesday night. Even did say my husband is welcomed to come with me knowing he loves and accepts me for who I am. Said her story was like mine, bottled it up for a long time and finally came out during her senior year of high school.

What made me happy today?

This guy!

The last time I saw a Preying Mantis was about this time last year. Our Maintenance Man found him hanging out on a window. He said he hadn't seen one in years. The more I thought about it, I hadn't either. I doubt this is the same one, but I was happy to see him tonight and he posed for me while I took his picture.
