Sephirah I started reading your story and went back later to finish reading it. I couldn't find it.

It was a great read and I would love to finish it.

Is it there or am I just brain dead (always a good possibility...)?

Still waiting to hear from the NYC Board of Ed.  Classic bureaucracy.  The principal is keen to get me approved. They really cut his staff and he said they are all burning out.  It's a major problem around the country.

I am glad that I can help. It makes me feel really good. I hope I work out.

They would be fools not to have you start right away. Is the delay so they can validate credentials?

I can go without coffee for months if I want, but I do like a good cup of coffee.

I tried a cappuccino recently.  I think I enjoy a good regular coffee much more though.
Hey, the cappuccino was free though!

Emma, you have a wonderful day!

I hope you are having a wonderful day as well Chrissy.  I love a good cappuccino too!

I spoke to the principal today and I have the job!!! There are the typical bureaucratic steps but that is it.  I really am excited. If it doesn't work out, out least I tried.

Davina I think that this job is a lot like the one you described.  I have a pulse , therefore I am in.

You have 99% of what you need to be able to do that, Emma. As I said... anyone who goes into teaching, or helping others in any way... the world needs more people like you. You will work out, as it were. Going from your writing, you have a way of engaging with people, no matter their age. To make things feel relevant and understandable. While not making things seem boring. You have the wonder of a 10 year old. And I don't mean that in anything other than the best way possible. At that age, anything is possible, everything is a puzzle, and life is a journey.

You are someone hugely relatable. I remember my teachers at school. There were only a couple who stood out to me. You remind me of those. The rest were... probably overworked but like... phoning it in. You can do this. <3

Thank you so much about what you said. I am glad you liked it. This thing I am working on is like trying to give birth... with lots of barbed wire. I know what I want to say, but saying it is like... urgh I don't even know. I am hoping to post it here soon but... it's like trying to do origami blindfolded, lol.

I asked a schoolteacher if she ever gets apples from families and she said no, but she teaches in urban America.  She said she never seen any teacher getting apples, although they do get some gift cards around Christmastime or a day celebrating teachers.  She is an elementary teacher.  Sometimes the parent groups buy a bunch of pizzas or doughnuts for the teachers too throughout the school year.

Perhaps some teachers do get apples though.
