Checking the storage trailer today, I found a case with computer optical disks, one disk being Cosmopolitan Virtual Makeover (1998) There should have been two disks, one for hair, the other for clothes. If I remember right, the program stopped working when it could no longer call home, and download the catalog. First you put a photo of your self into the program, it was then cropped so you could see yourself with various hairdos. Then you could check various clothing styles to see how you would look. I don't recall if you could order the clothes through the program.

Along the same line, I believe it was a movie called Clueless that the girl checked her phone to see what clothes she had, that she could wear, with photos of her in the outfits. I should set up my iPhone on the tripod and do something like a fashion show. I could do like a green screen using a green sheet and use the timer on the iPhone instead of using a mirror.

While looking for my skates in the trailer, I came across two Rubbermaid totes with women's clothes. These are clothes that I wore about 20 years ago. I had 2 denim shirts in the totes. 1 had a butterfly applique above the pocket. Both had buttons changed to rhinestone buttons. Turns out it was easier to change the buttons instead of putting button covers over the buttons every time I put on my shirts. Also in the totes were a few tank tops that I wore in the summer while working outside. I don't know if it was to keep me covered being for modesty or the fact that my mother had grabbed one of my brother's nipples and gave it a twist causing him pain. I think I tried to tell myself once that it was in support of women having to be covered by law. Around that time there was someone near the twin cities who was arrested for going topless at a beach.
I once found a discussion about lawfulness of a trans female going topless. I think it was decided that being listed as male he was not breaking the law, but looking quite feminine, the officer might arrest him for disturbing the peace or other similar law.

I think I got off topic. The long sleeve shirts are 2 inches short of my wrists when I put them on. I have 2 choices. I can turn the shirts into short sleeve shirts or I add a strip to the sleeve to make them longer.

I just roll the sleeves up so they come to the middle of my forearm. No cutting or sewing is involved, unless you enjoy it.  ;D

Some of my long sleeve shorts have a tab and a sleeve button and this holds the sleeve up amd away from the wrists when you roll them up.

When the sleeves do not go all the way down there is an upside in that your watch and bracelets can be more easily seen too, so I suppose if the long sleeves did not come all the way down this can be seen as a plus, maybe.  So not a biggie in any event, although stylistically perhaps the sleeves should go all the way down.  Unless the shirt is a short sleeve or 3/4 sleeve.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Quote from: Michelle_K on September 05, 2024, 12:12:34 AMI am really tempted, find my old roller skates, the ones with the black boots and get some pink laces. It is a 50 mile drive to a roller skating rink. Those skates are someplace in the storage trailer. First thing to do is weigh both pairs of skates, to see if the ones I fell with are really heaver than my black skates.
Just don't tell my brother-in-law, he thinks roller skating is too dangerous, especially at my age.
It is a 40 mile drive to a ice skating arena, and the weather has to be cold.

I agree with your brother-in-law and I think he has a valid point about the risks involved. If you still do decide to go stealth and go roller skating, please make sure to wear appropriate protective gear, including a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guard It's also a good idea to consult with your doctor to make sure you're physically fit enough for this activity.

If you're unsure about the right size of protective gear, you can consult with an employee at a sporting goods store. They can help you find the best gear for your needs.

Reading from your other post it seems you already got injured, safety first,  good luck.

The thing about my brother-in-law is that a lot of things are dangerous. I figure that he has never been on roller skates because they are dangerous. And he considers himself to be so intelligent that others should do as he says. He once bought a motorcycle, sold it within months because it was too dangerous. I will admit that he had proof in the fact that 1 of my cousins died in an accident and another was brain damaged. I'm the one that did a road trip on a motorcycle, from Minnesota to Las Vegas. I once pulled off the road because a semi decided to pass another semi on a two lane highway.
I kind of got a lecture from him when he found out I broke both my wrists while skating. I now have permanent metal plates in my wrists. You could say I have built in wrist braces. To be honest, it was a wake up call, a kick in the rear of my pants, and it was a learning experience. To build on the experience of female nurses helping me use the toilet, Plus the fact later that the men's rest room was broken in a gas station, forcing me to use the women's rest room, it became easier to start using the women's rest room in stores.
Imagine the idea that I had a beard to signal that it was okay for me to be in the men's rest room. That would mean that I was aware that I looked very feminine. So, even while wearing men's clothes, I would get misgendered as female if clean shaven. I wrote someplace that I wondered if someone thought that I was a female trans male entering the men's rest room.
Before I confuse everybody, I am assigned male at birth. Even though I have not started hormone therapy yet, that thing between my legs has been very dysfunctional for at least a decade.
I have never been married, not even a chance that I have a child someplace.  How did that go again, he's a boy, he's my friend, therefore he's my boyfriend. I think he saw it as we were just pals.
I am reminded of an old movie. In the movie one basket ball player finds another team member attractive. He is about to quit the team because he is homophobic. He then finds out that his team mate is the only female member on the team. The two become sexually involved. The press finds out about two team mates being together, and they are accused of being gay. I don't recall the end of the movie.
Now I begin to wonder if the bully in grade school really was a bully. I can ask the question, did I look feminine at the time, did he find me attractive because I looked feminine. He would chase me around the playground, and once he caught me, he would just sit on me.

I am an alcoholic, or should I say I was an alcoholic? I did have a craving for alcohol at one time. I don't know if it may have been some intolerance for something I was eating that was causing the cravings. All I know is that when we ran out of milk in the house, and I stopped drinking milk, the migraine headaches disappeared. I don't know if the milk did have BHA. BHA can trigger headaches for those afflicted with migraines.
Due to the fact that I broke both wrists, I decided to drink milk again. I don't know if there was some additive in the milk back in the 1960s that is no longer in the milk. I have had no ill effects from drinking milk now. I still have a question if something in the milk was causing the alcohol craving.
It seems that the only place to socialize around here is at the beer joint. And I wonder if I should take the chance and have a few drinks. I do know I could just have straight cola.

How did I put that years ago? Something about having to pay a therapist just to have somebody to talk to.
Going to a church school that had no bus service, and my mother was always so late to pick us up that we had to leave so they could lock the doors. I wonder how many times I heard about my dad getting his hand smashed while putting the belt on the thrashing machine. He had heard someone got their arm in the washing machine wringer, and had to make some joke about me continuing to crank the wringer. He really wasn't interested in who got their arm in the wringer, so he never found out it was me. It is interesting to note that he claimed he couldn't work because his fingers had gotten smashed, yet any complaints from me about any pain was dismissed as an attempt to get out of doing work. So, if I would have told him I was the one who got my arm in the wringer, he would have called me a liar.
Another note on this subject: his dad was missing fingers from grabbing a cable on the back of a Caterpillar tractor and reaching over the seat accidentally put the cable in motion. Would not my dad complaining about smashed fingers be an insult to his dad. Yet, my mentioning my fingers were smashed would be an insult as it would be considered a lie.
It seems that neither parent wanted to hear anything I had to say, but would gladly listen to the lies my sister told about me.

My second wife (RIP) had a big scar on her forearm where she got caught in an electric wringer when she was young. Those things were dangerous!

I was helping my grandmother at the time. I was young enough that after hitting the release, it went past my elbow, and the plug was pulled. My grandfather took the wringer apart to get my arm out. No visible damage and no broken bones. When the doctor put the metal into my wrists, he also took care of the carpel tunnel on that hand. I had asked my mother about the incident about 10 years ago, she responded that she did not know who got their arm in the wringer. She also stated that it definitely wasn't me. I seem to remember a lot of stuff the happened to me that she denied happened. Some she even claimed happened to her.

She was "lucky" in that her arm only went to the elbow. But it kept turning and pulling on her skin, thus leaving the scar. I think she said her sister pulled the power plug and the wringer had a release so that the rollers could separate and get her arm out. I think the whole assembly with the top roller flipped up, but I am just guessing.

I was looking at a photo of the wringer washer, and remembered what happens when the position of the wringer is not locked in. I seem to remember the wringer swinging around the washer.
Lately I have been digging through the storage unit and the storage trailer. My DVDs were stored separate from their cases, and now are back in their cases. 32 boxes of cases, with 30 cases in each box. Plus the DVDs that I had already put on the shelves. I also found boxes of prerecorded video cassettes. Ideally, I would replace the video cassettes with 4K discs, but some movies have not been released in any other format.
Another problem is standard screen and wide screen, where possible I would like to replace my standard screen videos with wide screen videos. I do have a VCR player that is also a DVD recorder.
I also have audio cassettes and 8-track tapes. There too, I would like to replace them with CDs. Because the audio cassettes and the 8-tracks have lost the cushion behind the tape, they would have to be repaired before playing. The 8-track player needs the rubber band drive replaced.

When I was about 10 years old or even younger, somebody had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had never even thought about it, so I had no answer. My dad told him that I wanted to be a radio/tv repairman. Sometime later, he found out that I might get to go to Dunwoody for electronics classes. He then started telling everyone that I was going to Dunwoody to become a radio/tv repairman. I had not filled out an application for Dunwoody.
I did end up going to Dunwoody, and while I was there my dad handed me his electronics correspondence course. If he had not pressured me to become a radio/tv repairman, I might have continued my education in computers.
While at Dunwoody, my draft number had been drawn, so after graduation, nobody would hire me. I then enlisted volunteer draft, and after the military, I was considered as having no electronics experience. At the time I think it was to the point that it was cheaper to replace the radio or tv.
At some point my dad decided that since I was not using my training, I should reimburse him for the cost of me going to Dunwoody. That idea did not go over very well as he had not spent anything for my tuition.
I later found out that he had planned on me to work in the back room repairing TVs, while I paid him to greet customers. At this time, repairmen were working from their garages, more as part time work.
