Eeek! I had a consult today for a fat transfer breast augmentation and I decided to go for it!

I'm pretty worried about it all, but the dr was so reassuring and intelligent and the photo results of other patients were amazing! All I really want is a bit more, not so much as what an implant augmentation would provide. I'm also super athletic and implants are a bit more impractical for me.

The other thing is, this surgery is a bit of a two for one, or maybe even a three in one, hehe. So some of my most stubborn fat is my belly fat. And it gives me the most dysphoria about my body currently. The surgeon and I talked about how she would try and go about helping to shape my belly and lower abdomen, as well as my breasts. And then she suggested taking out some fat from the backs of my arms. I hadn't even considered that. She said she loves that spot because it helps give women the skinniest arms, and I was like, um, yes please, sign me up!

I'm scheduled for surgery Dec 12th. There will be a bit less in my belly and my arms, and a bit more in my boobs! Just exactly what I was hoping for in the whole HRT fat redistribution. Big deal that it'll take a bit of surgical assist to get there, right?

Anywho..... I'll let ya know how it turns out. Well I'm hoping I will have some new exciting boobalicious avatars to post here at least! hahahahaha

That's great, Kelly!

I have been curious about the procedure myself. I understand the mechanics of it, but I don't know anyone who has been through it. Please keep us informed!

Wow.  I would seriously consider that if it is safe.  I wonder about scarring though.

Some people think liposuction is safe but I have heard of too many unfortunate results.
I would not do that.

I am unsure of some advertised non-invasive procedures designed to melt away fat in some body regions too.

But this procedure you describe Kelly sounds promising.

I don't want to trade cute but small for larger but with potential problems. I've done a fair amount of research into various augmentation methods and fat transfer is one of the lower risk methods. Not free of risk, just lower risk.

Also this procedure is not appropriate for people who don't already have their own breast tissue to begin with. One of the larger risks is fat necrosis. This typically happens when a surgeon tries to place too much fat in any one location. You need to spread out the fat with numerous very small injections of the fat throughout the entire breast. If you don't already have breast tissue, there is nowhere to spread it out to. If you don't currently have significant breast tissue, or you want much larger breasts, then fat transfer is not for you.

Kelly,

Is a B cup possibly big enough?  (You look bigger than that, so I figure maybe you need to be a C cup for this procedure.)

I am a clothing artist! I can make my meager chest look like Cs if not Ds, however they would most likely be considered to be an A cup. I typically wear a 36b bra, which fits the best, but it also gives me quite a boost. Most of my bras are padded at least enough to add a cup size. However the bras I wear the most are Victoria Secret's add 2 cup bras.

When discussing size with my surgeon, this procedure will increase my cup size by 1 cup at the most. Which would make it so that I would most likely be a full B cup, which would be fabu! An important part of this surgery will be to not make me so much larger that I size out of my current wardrobe. At most what I want is to go from a super padded bra, to a not so padded bra. Which means I will actually appear the same size as I do now in my day to day life, except that it will be mostly boob, whereas now its a lot of bra.

The surgeon had her nurse show me a couple of her past patients who underwent the same procedure and I was like OMG, if I could be that size, that would be amazing. But it is not implant large, just larger than what I am now.

Also a large part of this surgery will be the lipo. Yeah I too am scared of the possible negative side effects of that procedure also. However, my surgeon was talking about basically sculpting my lower abdomen to appear the most feminine as possible. Granted, I'm not that far off to begin with, I really don't have lots of extra fat to spare actually. She mentioned that she might have to try to get some from my lower back area if she can't find enough.

My surgeon made me promise to follow her after care instructions to the T. She will place a large foam/sponge piece over my abdomen and will then have me wear a compression garment basically 24/7 for the first 2-3 weeks. She was very adamant about me agreeing to this. Otherwise the wrong type of clothing garment placed over the lipo area will cause weird creases and lumpiness that she would feel obligated to correct later on. And she hates having to do that, because she doesn't have to when her patients follow her directions.

I told her, I try and seek out the best surgeons and I try to be the best patient I can be to complement their amazing work. Besides I'm a math girl. Trust me, I'm going to follow your directions!

Lori Dee

I am amazed at the number of people who don't follow after-care directions. The way I see it, they have done this many, many more times than I have, so follow their advice. Especially if you want a good result.

Yes, things can go sideways with any surgery. But you minimize the risks by taking meds as prescribed and treating wounds as prescribed. They know what to expect, and if you do as they said and something goes wrong, it is easier for them to pinpoint what happened and take corrective action.

I am so proud of you for taking this next step in your journey. I will be eager to hear how it turned out.

Kelly,

I have to admit some days I want more breast development too.
Most days I am just thrilled with my Bs but on other days I would want them to be fuller Bs or maybe Cs.  But never more than Cs.

Those are days that seem to occur now and then and I have a tendency to dress to emphasize them on those days.  I will see what my doctor says about if my HRT meds should be adjusted but likely the meds will stay the same.

I too have tried adjusting my HRT, and while my breasts have filled out a bit in the past couple of years, I've been on HRT since 2017. I've gotten what I'm going to get from HRT.

Basically my entire support system supports me in this decision, and I can currently afford it, so I'm going for it. I think my wife kind of wants me to do it the most of my support humans. I think she's just tired of hearing me talk about it for like the last 20-30 years. Yes I've talk about the possibility of larger boobs for about 20 years prior to even changing my hormones.

Paulie

Hi Kelly,

This is pretty exciting to Hear about. I considered implants before I started HRT.  Now that I'm on HRT and I'm having pretty good results, I don't think I'd bother with implants.  Depending upon how things progress though, I may conceder this a some point.  Please keep us updated and I wish you the best.

Paulie.

I def feel fat transfer is prob one of the most realistic outcomes of all breast enhancement (in theory) since it uses your own fat, and also has a added bonus of being able to reduce one or more of your problem areas (ie stomach, waist, hips, butt etc) that has stubborn fat that won't go away.

From what I've read typically one cup size +/- is achieved each time, it is done. Has natural look and feel, and will also gain and lose fat as you gain/lose fat. Chance of scaring is very minor, no lose of sensation.

I've only heard very positive things about it. I think if I were ever a candidate for breast augmentation, this is the route I'd probably look at first. Assuming I have enough fat for them to use, and already has breast growth enough for the fat to spread out.

ChrissyRyan

This is an intriguing breast enhancing procedure.

Squeeee!!! My plastic surgeon took photos of my breasts during the consult for her records. Well in the meantime of waiting for the surgery she recently sent me the photos and she had morphed them to show me what she is expecting the results to be like!! If I get results that are anywhere near to what she showed me I am going to be so happy!

Yes, that many !!!!!s are needed!!!!

Hiya! I am now 5 days out from my surgery and I am so excited!! Everything is set to go. I've gotten my pre-surgical clearances, had my pre-op appointment, and most importantly, paid for everything!

An interesting thing about this surgery, I'm having fat transferred right? So one might think that I should gain weight so that there is more available to transfer, but actually the opposite is true. My surgeon's data breakdown has shown her that if you are overweight going into this surgery, you will lose more fat from your surgical sites after you return to your normal weight. Conversely, if you are underweight before surgery, and then return to your regular weight, you will retain a higher percentage of body fat to the surgical site. Long explanation to say I'm down about 6-8 pounds from my typical weight.

I'm very much looking forward to this surgery as my surgeon is going to perform a bit of body contouring with the liposuction as well. She is going to harvest fat from my abdomen, the backs of my arms, and probably a bit from my back in a few spots. And then she's going to put it all into my boobs, woo-hoo!!!

Oh, and a word of caution about this that I don't think I've mentioned before, this procedure can only double the amount of tissue you currently have. Putting more fat than that into the breasts causes problems. So it'll work great for me as I already have a bit of breast tissue present. But if you don't have any or not much at all, then this surgery really isn't for you.

Okay, gotta run. I'll update y'all when I can.

Best wishes.

Hi people! I had my surgery done this past Thursday, and I'd have to say, ouch! Liposuction hurts! Well my liposuction hurt at least. I am sure there are some of you who had lipo and it didn't really hurt, but mine sure does. According to my dr she knew that I was going to be hurting because she had to work extra hard to get my fat. She described my fat as being very stringy and challenging to remove. However that type of fat is apparently very good for transplanting as it tends to stay put better.

I did see my breasts the day after the procedure and they looked huge. However much of that is going to leave as they are very swollen. I won't know their final size for a few months as the swelling slowly subsides.

Oh I also got to see my arms, which she removed some fat from the back of and they look amazing! I had no idea that something like this could help my arms look skinnier. I thought my arms were all muscle. But nope!

The rest of me, where they harvested the fat from, is all wrapped up in multiple compression garments that I will need to wear for the next couple of weeks. There were two or three other harvest sites that I haven't been able to really see the results of yet. But dang, I sure am sore!
